Over the holidays WMHK 89.7 kept playing over and over again this little encouraging story I thought you might get a smile out of it(I'm going to put this in quotes, but this isn't word for word- but to the best of my memory):

"There's man that comes out of a store from Christmas shopping trying to find that perfect gift for his brother. He gets into his car where his wife awaits him. He is excited to share w/ her that he thinks he found that perfect gift and preceeds to share with her-about the store had this cool plastic Superman action figure toy just like my brother and I had at my grandparents house when we were kids. We played with it all the time when we were over there until one day we totally demolished him. I don't know, I thought that might be the perfect gift to send to him. The wife didn't have a lot of input and he talked himself out of getting it for his brother. When Christmas day came and he opened his brother's present that was sent to him. Guess what it was....a plastic Superman action figure just like the one he had intended to give his brother. He was so happy, but yet disappointed he didn't get the one to send to his brother on the memory it brought to life at that moment. He said if he would have gotten that gift- how we would have really connected by giving each other the same gift reliving that memory together!"
I think the point was they were advertising through this story to listen to WMHK because the music connects and brings people together- something like that. I thought it was a cool story!

I hope you had an AWESOME birthday!

Not sure if he had duct tape or not...but really, the door couldn't be opened. J had to climb out the window...mortified in front of a high school gf.

Yeah right before my show in June, Laura told me to ask about the orange pinto story at my M&G. Unfortunately, J ended up not having a M&G that night because he threw out his voice, so I never got to hear it. Now I know parts of it at least :p

Kelly, you totally have to ask him about the pinto. In fact, wouldn't it be funny if we ALL ask him about it throughtout this year's tour?! LOL. Ooops. This is the "To Jeremy" thread. You readin' this, J? :D

No worries, it's a recycled story. ;)

I get to hear some of the same stories... but every once in a while I get a fresh one! :D

Plus, J is such a good storyteller that we don't give the stories justice! :P

This is going to sound weird, but one of my favorite stories appeared in one of the CCM magazines (I think that's where I read it).
It's when he tells the story about throwing his Bible across the room because he didn't want to trust God or worship Him anymore.
That shows that he's not this infallible super hero, and that he's human and subject to human emotion as well. :)

Very true! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to ask about the orange pinto. I will next time! :)

Awesome memories Laura! There were actually two pintos given to his family two different times one was orange and one was red.
Donna(InAweOfChrist) and I had a bet on what color they were- I said the bright light blue-sky blue- Wayne's World(i think their's was blue)- they use to have their pinto at Carowinds. Donna said green, but we were both wrong. I love that story.
I was driving my dad's old '89 Buick Centry wagon- white w/ wood paneling this summer into the early fall of this past year after my car accident this past summer. I often thought of that story when I drove it and give me a smile and blessed my little journey in the old wagon. It gained the name "the Dinomobile."
I really like that Superman story it hit a soft spot in my heart- a reminder of a little boy just being a innocent child building dreams playing super hero and now a man humbled w/ God written on His heart shines a light that no super hero could ever be (2 Corinthians 3:3). It is so neat to see how God links together or weaves together special memories to build upon new ones in our lives. It brings so much joy and more smiles to our hearts!
