Hey Sorry i know its long but i think i should share this and you can get an what i my grade will be :D
Missionaries do enormous things that can affect their lives, and the lives of other people, in many different ways. Some of them have even risked their lives. When Missionaries’ go into the field they give up all of their worldly possessions, they leave friends and family behind. Doing small things like helping someone with their groceries or big things like going around the world, spreading God’s word, you are doing God’s work. To me even the little things can be doing God’s work. One missionary that comes to mind for me is Nate Saint who risked his life and in the end lost it.
Over fifty years ago, five missionaries were murdered in Ecuador by the Waondia Tribe. On Wednesday, January 11, 1956, a pilot, Johnny Keenan saw the yellow stripes of a piper he then saw the body of a young man floating face down in the river. They were unable to retrieve his body, but they got his shoe and his watch .Later that day they found out it that it was Ed McCully. They later discovered the bodies of the other four young missionaries. They were Roger Youderian, Pete Fleming, Jim Elliot and then Nate Saint. The people who found the bodies buried them in the jungle. The missionaries all shared the same passion, which was taking the good news and sharing it with those who never heard of Christ. From October to December Nate Saint and Ed McCully or Jim Elliot made more than thirteen flights delivering clothes, knifes and more things, of which the Waondia returned gifts back to them one of gifts they got was a parrot. The young men considered early January for a chance at a peaceful meeting. In January Saint added Roger Youderian to their group. The men decided that Tuesday January, 3 1956 would be the date for this peaceful meeting. When they landed, they were there for three days before anyone made contact. On Friday two women and one man came to the camp. Without spears the missionaries took this as a good sign. The indigenous people ate some of their food. The young man of the group was curious about the plane, so Nate took him for a ride. Even though the Waondia were talkative, the missionaries did not understand them because of the language barrier. Unknown to the missionaries this contact had put their lives in grave danger. There was a conflict between the three people in the group and their tribesmen. Their anger would be taken out on the five missionaries, since they were the enemy. On Sunday the missionaries were greeted by the Waondia tribesmen who were armed with spears. The five missionaries were speared to death. Years later one of the men who helped them, said that one of the missionaries said “Don’t spear, don’t spear.” We just came to meet you. We are not going to kill you .Why are you killing us? (Long, Nystorm)
Steve Saint would later make the decision to go and live with the Waondia; this is when a great relationship started. Steve had spent a good part of his childhood in Ecuador. When he was only five years old they found out that his dad and four of his friends were killed by the indigenous people. This destroyed Steve’s life, as a little boy not knowing what really happened to his father. Steve went back to the States to finish his education. Then one day in 1994 he got the news that his Aunt Rachel had passed away of cancer and he needed to come right away for the funeral. When he had got there he heard some people talking about the five missionaries, and how they did not try to kill them even though they were about to be killed. Steve asked “Who killed my father?” No one answered him but, everyone looked at Mincaye. The look on his face was the most painful look he seen. Steve was glad he that found out who killed his father not because, he wanted revenge but because he wanted to show Gods’ love. Even to the man responsible for his father’s death. The indigenous people were also talking about one man who didn’t run away, he just stayed there and let us kill him. The indigenous people talked to Steve and asked him to come and live with them. He told them the age old excuse that he would have to pray about it. Steve and his family went to live with the indigenous people while there he helped to make their lives much easier. Steve was able to get them to a hospital faster by flying them there he was able to get supplies. They all helped them to build an airstrip so that he could land and take off close to where they lived. (Saint)
Missionaries do remarkable things, even if means sacrificing their own lives to do God’s Work by spreading His Word. In 2003 a southern Baptist couple were troubled by Satan’s grip on the world, they felt God wanted them go into the missionary field. The two missionaries plus forty-six others were appointed by the International Mission Board to serve God. On September 12, 2003, was a reunion for one thousand retired missionaries. This reunion lasted for one week. Three couples from North Carolina were chosen during the services to go to Asia. These three couples are not named do to security reasons and the area which they are going. Surrendering and sacrificing was a major part of the theme though out all the missionaries that were chosen for the job. One couple Jeff and Liesa Holman told their story about what they had to sacrifice. One day Liesa was to home with her sick children and Jeff was at the Church being the student minister he was at the worship service and he had felt that God was telling him to go into the mission field. His wife wasn’t sure if that was really what she wanted Gad had gave her a similar call as a teenager but she was in doubt. She was really hoping to put the whole missionary life on hold. They counted the cost and what they would sacrifice. They chose to follow God’s call for them to go to Peru. Some of the other missionaries shared they’re own stories. In 2005 one missionary had traveled to help with the tsunami relief. During that time they witnessed a Muslim burial ceremony. During that a man who lost all his family was sitting by him and the guy had pointed to a translator and point the word sorrow and he knew that God was calling him to work in foreign culture. He was appointed to work with his wife in Northern Africa and the Middle East. (Gibson)
You hear about people risking their lives and sacrificing their lives but you never hear about people being great friends with there father’s killer who killed his father when he was only a child. Steve Saint had to deal with that he was a boy when his dad was murdered and now he loves him like his own father. The Six Auca men emerge from the Ecuador jungle, one day in January of 1956 the spearing of the five American to death and throwing there bodies into the river. The indigenous people were the most violate killed all enemies. Steve was only five when he heard about his own father and his dad’s four friends were killed. Steve found himself back were the men killed those five missionaries for his Aunt Rachel’s funeral. His Aunt Rachel lived with the Waondia to help them, to teach them to walk in God’s trail. When Steve came back for her funnel they wanted his help now. Steve had talked about they wanted him to give up his job and wanted him and his family to move to Ecuador to he was saying “They wanted me to give up my job, to uproot my family below the equator to live with them, it was beyond reason. They had no laws no stores no taxes no elections no phones” but Saint continued to say “If God sees it well, I will come. I did not want to go at first but in early 1995 God Changed my heart and we went.” The tribe was telling him how his aunt Rachel changed their hearts, she taught them to live in God’s way. There was one tribe up-river and down river they wanted to spread the word of God after they became God followers they realized that the ones down river didn’t know God and they thought about telling them about him. One went down river and told them about how they don’t want to fight they have a new way of living and there done hating. The ones down-river said we don’t want to, and one of the Woandia men was telling them he wants you to, and the down-river tribe killed him. After a few days the people down river fell very sick and they need medication and help. The indigenous people were helping then the ones that were ill asked “Why aren’t you going to kill us?” and Woandia said “Don’t you know that God sent his son to love us and save us? So we won’t kill you either (Lent)
There are still all types of missionaries that could be traveling all around the world, risking lives giving up their worldly [possessions. You don’t have to leave the country to go on a mission. You can stay right hear and do God’s work. Nancy Baldwin is a woman who lives in Alaska. She is no stranger to the missionary world she helps out the most she can with everything. “When she accepted Christ into her heart knowing God wanted her to serve in a mission somewhere” One of her important missions was being with a youth group that of them many were unsaved. To Nancy “It’s a thrill to counsel the youth at their point of accepting Christ as Savior!” (Baldwin)

My youth pastor told the youth group one night “Anyone can be a missionary! It includes from the time you wake up to the time when you go to bed. I don’t have to go to Peru I can stay here and do the same thing as someone in Peru, Norway or anywhere else in the World is doing
