It is Good Friday, so I thought it would be good to have a place we can put anything the Lord is showing us, reactions to sermons, etc.

My church is having a Good Friday service in a few minutes so I will head out to that.

We will read the easter story from the bible with our children and discuss it (on there level of course). I can't wait for my husband to get home!! It is a tradition we are starting this year.

I've been focusing on this song today:

Carry My Cross
by Third Day

As long as I remember
I've been walking through the wilderness
Praying to the Father
And waiting for my time
I've come here with a mission
And soon I'll give my life for this world

I'm praying in the garden
And I'm looking for a miracle
I find the journey hard but
It's the reason I was born
Can this cup be passed on
Lord, I pray Your will be done in this world

So I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I'll do it for love
No, it won't be in vain
Yes I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame

I feel like I'm alone here
And I'm treated like a criminal
The time has come for me now
Even though I've done no wrong
Father, please forgive them
They know not what they've done in this world

So I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I'll do it for love
No, it won't be in vain
Yes I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame

Three more days and I'll be comin' back again
Three more days and I'll be comin' back again

So I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I'll do it for love
No, it won't be in vain
Yes I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame

Yes I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame
To the end of the road
Through the struggle and pain
And I'll do it for love
No, it won't be in vain
Yes I'll carry my cross
And I'll carry the shame

I just finished watching “The passion of the Christ”. What blows my mind this year is:

Jesus Absolutely did not quit until the full payment for all the sins of the universe was called Finished by the Father. How many decisions was that?
Beyond not accepting being drugged on the cross - The Lord who invented nerve endings could have at any moment at least shut a few of them off! Or made it not hurt, or any of a million things to make bearing sin less awful. And for most if not all of the trial he could have done so, or called those 12 legions of angels, at any single moment of the whole suffering. That means each moment He had to re-choose to go through with the whole thing and refuse to use that Off Switch. Each.moment.of.the.whole.18.hours. Anyone ever been in severe pain and just wanted every second or so to make it stop? Would you have been able to have the ability to, but refuse to use it over and over and over for that long?

If anyone has not watched Passion of the Christ, I definitely recommend it! In the meantime, check out this video I found on YouTube which puts scenes from Passion of the Christ to J's This Man....powerful!

Our pastor's sermon was on 'do not fear - even though it's the normal reaction'. The women at the tomb had heard Jesus say He would rise from the dead, they were eager to see it in a sense, but when the saw the angel they were freaked out. The disciples had heard even more so that He would rise, had even hear him say they would see Him again (Jn 14:18-19,28), but they were afraid even when He walked in the room, in the middle of two of them telling about seeing Him risen! He asked them why they didn't believe what He had told them, and asks us the same.

Very applicable to me - He has said often enough that He is up to something here.

I didn't get to hear our pastor's preaching today because it was our week to teach Ben's class (Sunday School). Dan taught on sowing seed, watering, harvesting. We focused on the sowing today.

I still haven't watched The Passion of the Christ. We bought it when it first came out and it's still wrapped. Last year I really, really tried to bring myself to watch it after talking with some of you on the old boards about it, but in the end, I just couldn't. I will someday. I have seen the video on youtube with "This Man", but I couldn't even watch that. Very little of it. I'm a whimp, you guys. A great big whimp!

Anyway, Happy Easter to you all!!!

I hear ya Laura! I remember that too, us trying to talk you into watching it :p For some reason I thought we'd finally talked you into it, but I'm guessing not if it's still WRAPPED :p It definitely is a TOUGH thing to watch, but a blessing too. And yes, that video is HARD for me to watch...and I've seen the movie!

First off, I hope everyone had an amazing weekend!!

I am not sure if anyone here has heard the group called... "Take No Glory" I heard about the group through Jeremy Camp's Father's Church. They invited this group to play and then went to the fairground in the same county as i live in. I went to hang out and listen to them. I fell in love with them from the start. They have some AMAZING lyrics and their songs have also helped me.

I joined their facebook group and they sent out an update..telling everyone about this small video someone had put together with one of their songs.

Please watch this small music video to their song "He Didn't Die In Vain" I thought it went well with this time of the year.

Hope all is well!
God Bless,

Yeah, I thought I could....but just lost courage.

With all the strange happenings in our world these days, I was especially moved this Easter when I considered the sins of the world that Jesus paid for. I mean, just my own would be too much....but then to add every one else's, and at the rate that sin is increasing and abounding. I don't know. It just blew me away this year. Words just cannot remotely come near to expressing how thankful I am for His sacrifice.
