It looks like we already are having people who are posting things in the wrong sections. So Mods if you are out there just keep an eye out for things like that.

Some of the people posting may be new to message boards and might not know to check around for topics before they post. Maybe we could get some 'Please Read Before Posting' guidelines pinned. Just a suggestion.

I think it's a good idea. Maybe descriptions of each section would be better, but that is the job of the admin.

Yes, it's a job of admin. There were good pre-posting threads on the old boards. Most people can figure out what a thread is about by the title of it.

Yeah, I miss my buttons, too. There are several things I would have done so far....but you know what, the mods don't even have buttons yet. They can't do anything about anything right now. (? odd)

Poor planning i think, its a bad idea to start new boards on a christian forum without having everything thought out and ready before launch, mods having the appropriate tools to mod i think is probably the most important thing on a baord......

We have GOT to get the Brotherhood and Sisters threads locked!! I've tried to be so careful, but several times, I just look at the red circle and click without realizing where im at until it's too late, and just now i clicked it and read a thread, replied to it, then realized it was in brotherhood! Yikes! Sorry boys! I deleted it though. But where are the people who are supposed to be running this thing? It's been a LONG time now!

I couldnt agree more....the only MOD that i know of is Carebear...she is the only one that i know of...is there any more out there?? but still they dont have their buttons yet...so what good does that do...

Last I heard, we have mods, but they have no "buttons" to do their work. I've seen much that needs deleting or fixing, but nothing can be done. Kind of weird.

On the Old Boards, we have buttons that we can delete, move, lock or splice threads. (More, too). But here all they have is the title. I'm sure the mods are frustrated. I would be. I am.

I've almost gone into brotherhood, too, several times. I think once I did, just for a split second. But those who don't know or understand... I'm thinking they are going where they shouldn't be. Not good for minors especially!! I've tried to contact the admin several times, but no response. I'm almost ready to try to contact Matt or Jeremy before someone takes a wrong turn here. It worries me.

Don't feel bad, Kelly. It's easy to do with it sticking right there in plain sight.

Hey why dont we do what we did with old boards, like for the girls the brotherhood wont show and the oppiste for the guys. but thats why if i dont know were to put i go " I dont know were to put if you need to move you can move" and like Laura had said it might help with pinning Like with the whats up you can make a cataugary in it like with whats up
for ex. School- li that but i dont know how you do that but thats something "whats up"

The real problem right now is the mods...at least I... have no editing powers. I have contacted the admin and have not yet got a response. I have emailed some others to make them aware of the problem. The admin will still have to hide threads but hopefully things will get worked out soon.

There is a contact us button at the bottom of the page that sends your email to the forum admin. I would encourage you all to voice your concerns that way.

Cara, I know of 2 other mods who don't have buttons either, and I would guess that no one does. It must be some kind of major oversight or something.

Awesome Cara! I think right now our biggest concern is the Brother/Sister threads being locked.

Cara, do you know if you can change the different forum titles? We still have "Payer & Praise" -- that bugs me every time I see it. :)

LOL...it kind of bugs me, too. But no biggie. I don't think mods have the power to change those. At least we don't on the OB that I know of. But then again, I've never tried it. So my answer was pretty much useless. Sorry.

Typically, moderators have the power to move, splice, lock, or delete threads; edit posts; and ban users by username or IP address (depending on the level of modship). They can't change the face or basic organization of the boards.

Translation? An administrator is the only one with the power to change forum titles (like Payer and Praise) or limit who can view certain forums (the 'Hood and SIC forums).
