Hi my name is Janie Mack and I am new on the Jeremy Camp message boards. For a few months I have been struggling with not reading my bible or praying regulary. Can you all please pray that I get back on board with it. Thanks and I look fprward to making new friends on this message board. I am also confused about some stuff I need prayer for that too. Thanks

P.S. I chatted a couple times on RAWRS I was Janie if anyone remembers me.

Welcome to the boards Janie! We're happy to have you join us! :o

You will be in my prayers--sometimes all we need to ask for is the motivation, and when we do that and it comes, you will find yourself hungry for the Word and wanting more and more.

Just being here will also be such an encouragement to you. This place is just filled to the brim with the love and Spirit of God. :o

hi janie, nice to meet you. :)

we all get stuck in that rut - not studying or praying as much as we should be. when i'm struggling with motivation to do either one, i try to make a simple choice to do it because it needs to be done, even if i "don't feel like it." (ok, now notice i didn't say i simply DO it because it needs to be done...sometimes it's still a struggle & ends up not being done.....which always amazes me, because i am always - ALWAYS!! SOOOOOOOO renewed & refreshed after spending some time with Him & can't wait to get back for more! anyway....)

you are in our prayers & we are glad to have you with us! :)

Hi Janie, and welcome! I'm so glad you've joined us.

I think I do remember your name from the RAWRS. I was on every night, though I had to either leave early or join late for a couple of them. (I miss them!)

One way to kick start your prayer and study time is to just do a tad bit. Nothing overwhelming or that seems like it's too much to follow through with.

If you don't have a reading plan, just try opening the Word to a random verse and read until something hits you and gives you some hope or insight. Or just go to the Psalms and read a couple verses. It will give you a hunger for more.

As for praying, just start out thanking him for the things you are really grateful for. Family, health, salvation, whatever hits you. Let it take a natural course from there. Don't push it, just talk to your Lord like he's your best friend.

I'll pray for you, Janie. Let us know how you are doing. And please jump in and join the conversations. Like the others said, this is a great place of encouragement and friendship. I've been so blessed by the people here!

Let any of the mods know if you need any help with the site or have any problems with it.

Jesus Bless You~
Laura

Welcome Janie! As Dawn said, you're not alone! It's easy sometimes to get caught up in life & forget to read your Bible or pray. Laura hit the nail on the head with the advice to start small. I started to say simple little prayers & notice now that I pray several times a day. Doesn't have to be a twenty minute prayer. Less is more, right :p I have a thing I found online called Breath Prayers. I thought I'd posted it on here before but I can't find it so I'll post it again.

As for reading your Bible, you can search for a reading plan on the internet, or ask your pastor what they recommend.

If you need anything let myself or any of the other mods know :)
