EIGHT days!!!!

does your mom still want to drive the whole 3 hrs here? or does she want us to meet you guys half way in lancaster? just let me know, because we may have to do some creative budgeting for that one...but we WILL make it happen this time!!! :)

CamperGirl

Mom has NO problem taking me to your place :) She's probobly gonna hang out for a tiny bit and then head home (she's gonna bring my little sis along too to have someone to chat with on the way home) :p

No need for any creative budgeting...(Save that $$ for SWC in *Yippie* 8 days!!!) :D

For several years I've thought about going to Spirit West Coast, Monterey - since it's only about 3 to 4 hours away from me. But for some reason, I never really seem to have the motivation to go. I guess I don't want it bad enough...

CamperGirl

You should! It's total fun! :)

cori

woohoo, sarah - it'll be great to get to spend *some* time with your mom again, and awesome to finally meet your sister, too. :)

convicted, i've never been before either & always had little motivation TO go. but when we found out for SURE that jeremy was playing, that gave me the push i needed to WANT to go.....being able to volunteer for the event helps us manage the cost to go, and i'm actually WAY excited about being able to help. :) let us know if you decide to go. :)

Wow, Convicted sounds like you need some cheering up! ((((HUGS))))! You know J alone is worth going 3 to 4 hrs, he is worth even more hours to drive to see. I've driven almost 11hrs to Ohio to see him as God lead me to do so. Cali- that should be an awesome show! :)

Now all we need is a signing line at SWC and we'll be SET!

(7 days!!!) :)

cori

SEVEN DAYS!!!!! YAY!!!!!! hoping for a signing line.....and wishing we could at least get whose table we're gonna be working squared away! lol

hey....tell your mom that she can hang out a little longer than a "tiny bit." lol cameron & i are going to go to the bank today, to see if THEY can help us get a loan to buy (as opposed to renting when this place sells), and then, after that, i think we're going to start looking into the drive to monterey & all so we can figure out what time we need to leave, etc...

i am SO excited! :D

cori
07-21-2009, 02:43 PM
oh yeah, sarah...meant to tell you a few weeks ago when cameron talked to his scheduling person for swc. she told him that it gets pretty chilly, so make sure you pack some pants & sweaters/sweatshirts/hoodies for while we are down there. you absolutely, positively will NOT need them at MY house! lol, but....she went so far as to recommend bringing beanies & gloves, as well, so.....bring SOMETHING! :)

SEVEN DAYS!!!!! *squeal* :D

Gottcha...pack warm stuff--check! (And COLD weather?! Praise God!) :D

Monterey from your house is aprox. 5 or more hours away and I *think* that we need to be checked into our hotel by 3:00 PM that day, so we will need to leave earrrly in the morning to check in to our room and get to Laguna Seca for voulenteer check in (as the first people there I'm praying!)

But we still have 7 days to work all that stuff out...YaY!!! :)

cori
07-21-2009, 03:59 PM
ok....i'll go through my email to see if i can find the confirmation email you sent me about the room - if i can find it (i still have it, just...FINDING it...), i'll call to get a definite time for check-in, and we'll print out our maps & stuff today so we can get planning. WE need to know what time we're leaving on saturday so that we can make sure the older kids are here to stay with them so we can GO! lol

and yes, PRAISE GOD for cold weather!!!!! :D (still need to go buy pink t-shirts! hehe)

Are you serious? Beanies? Gloves? C'mon. The lowest temperature you're likely to see in monterey at this time of year - is about 53 degrees (at night). Other than that, it'll probably be in the mid 60's to 70's. No doubt it does get cloudly and overcast there sometimes since it's right off the ocean (it has similar temperatures to San Francisco because of this); but I don't think it'll be cold enough for gloves, beanies, hoodies, or sweaters. At least not in my book. But maybe I just have good circulation. It's always good to take extra stuff with you just in case, but I doubt it's really all that necessary - unless temperatures that are normally somewhere in the 60's seems cool to you. Good luck anyways. :)

Are you guys doing anything other than seeing the concert? There's also lots of other fun things to do in monterey and the surrounding areas.

CamperGirl
07-21-2009, 07:05 PM
I'm planning on staying at SWC all day for the 4 days it's going on (that's me anyway, lol!), other than that--just there and the hotel. Bringing enough $$$ for hotel, food and merch, maybe next time though we can go a couple days earlier and bring some extra $$$ to sightsee. This time I just REALLLLY wanna see all the concerts and fun stuff at SWC!!! :D (It's a 4 days thing and there is going to be a BUNCH of cool exibits and shopping there too at the arena) :)

cori
07-22-2009, 02:38 AM
no sightseeing, just swc grounds & the motel room (yay showers!). :) 50's-ish at night? after a summer night here, that's FREEEEZING! lol (we are "enjoying" 80 degree temps at 1:38am!) will bring a hoodie, probably, but all of my warm clothes are buried in the storage unit & i don't think i'll need gloves or a beanie. :)

convicted, are you giving any second thoughts to going? it would be great to see you there! :)

ok...i will post MY favorite moments from swc tonight, but the pictures (and video) will HAVE to wait for tomorrow! i'm waiting for my last load of laundry to finish drying before i crawl off to bed....so, i can post as i wait. :)

thursday...jeremy camp day (duh! lol....was anyone surprised? hehe) was THE highlight for me. but, first..i gotta back up a little bit...

ok, so....literally DAYS before sarah was supposed to get here & were to head off to swc, the first half of my childcare arrangements started to fall apart. i emailed sarah in a panic, asking her to pray, and the swc volunteer check-in lady, to ask her if my kids could be with me as i worked my shifts if i needed to bring them. sarah was super calm & just like, "it's ok, cori....calm down...i'm praying. trust God....He told us to go, it's His job to work out the details." (ok, that's SO not a direct quote! lol) and lindsey (swc lady) emailed me back and told me that she didn't mind them being with me, or they could reschedule our shifts if we needed to - no worries. so....to make everything easier on everyone, we decided, totally last minute, to take the boys with us. matthew got in free, and lindsey reimbursed us for HALF of noah's ticket ($40!), so that was amazing!!!

and, i must say, that, over all, they did EXCELLENT!!!! we had a few meltdowns & a reeeeally mean practical joke done on noah (which caused another meltdown but that one was easily contained & resolved), but...for the most part, they did EXCELLENT!!!!! :) (and boy, do they LOOOOOOOOVE sarah!!!! <3 ). matthew's biggest issue was the walking (at least a mile from parking to the air1 stage, and then another mile from the air1 stage to the klove stage...at least 2 trips to the van each day, and many, MANY trips from one stage to the other each day!). he did NOT enjoy that & had a hard time keeping up with our pace, so there was a bit of frustration on MY part waiting for him to catch-up - especially when we were crunched for time before shifts starting - i like to think i worked my way through the frustration fairly well most of the time, but i know i got TOO frustrated with him a few too many times. :( (i'm sorry, matthew!) noah's biggest issue was sensory overload, but, he did GREAT!!!!!!!! :D and...other than watching jeremy & shocking him, and then watching sarah shock him even MORE!! lol, noah's response to everything on thursday is really what made it the MOST amazing day for me. (new post, so i don't go over character....)

cori
08-03-2009, 01:18 AM
ok, so..on thursday, we had to work the morning shift. so....tuesday night, we weren't in BED til like 12:30 & neither of us fell asleep til almost 2 (i was out by 130, but sarah said she couldnt sleep til after 2). up at 430am on weds to make the 5.5 hr drive.....working 730pm to midnight & getting back to the room at 1230....into bed at 1am. up at 530am on thursday to work our morning shift....we were EXHAUSTED!!!! but, it was JEREMY day, so we didn't have ANY trouble waking up! lol...the boys, on the other hand, found it a bit more challenging, but they knew veggieland & bounce-housing was on the agenda (cameron worked a different shift than we did that day, so he was going to use our 4 hr shift to bounce them out - then sarah & i took them again to bounce before matthew west), so they were compliant & happy. :)

i'm SO leaving out SOOOO much stuff, but....when my dryer stops, i want to go to bed, so i want to at LEAST get the highlights (for ME, anyway! lol..i know sarah's are different!) posted before then....i'll fill in the blanks later....but anyway...

ok, so....merch shift passes...trip to the van....trip back down for lunch....more bouncing....then we decided to stake out our seats for jeremy (around 430pm). we figured we wanted to see matthew west, too, who was on at 5, so we'd head up to save our seats (we paid $6 for "stadium seating" which was in bleachers off to the side of the stage, but we were sitting higher than people were standing, so we really could see everything, even though there was a bit of a distance there...). well...let's see...it was about 4 when we decided to do that, because that's when cameron's shift was done. he was working the medical tent by the klove stage (which is where matthew west, david crowder, & jeremy performed), so we walked the boys over there to get him. he took the boys to use the restroom while sarah & i went and staked out our seats. when they were coming to the seats, i could tell that noah had been crying. he was calm, but he had been crying for sure. when they sat down, cameron told me that noah was already having a hard time with sensory overload & he had a pretty difficult time trying to console noah. i said a quick prayer as we put the earplugs in his ears (and then matthew's), and did my best to prepare noah for what was about to happen. even though i would have been totally bummed about needing to leave the jeremy camp concert with noah, i was MORE upset about noah being so overloaded & upset. but, the earplugs were AMAZING!!! as SOON as they were in, noah was happy as a clam, playing with his comb (self-stim/coping mechanism). he barely batted an eye when matthew west started. :) my tough little guy! (next post....)

cori
08-03-2009, 01:36 AM
(skimming through my previous post to see where i left off, i just realized that i start almost EVERY post with "ok, so..." i'm gonna try to NOT do that! HA! we'll see how THAT one goes! lol)

umm......oh yeah, matthew west! noah was totally off in his own world, playing with his comb, during the first few songs that matthew did. then the one song he released right before the motions song (i know, i'm TERRIBLE!!! i KNOW the song, but i can't think of the title or even a WORD in it right now!), it caught noah's attention, and he started to watch the concert a little bit. i noticed (had been looking at him FREQUENTLY to make sure that he was holding up ok) that one of his earplugs was about to fall out, so i bent down & took it out, to fix it & put it back in. he started to take the other one out, so i told him to leave it there & explained that the concert wasn't done & it was still really loud. he said, "that's ok - i'm ready to have them out, now." so i thought, ok, we'll give it a try & we can put them back in whenever he's ready. to my COMPLETE shock, he wasn't bothered AT ALL!!!!!!! :D not only did he WATCH, he sang along when matthew did the motions song! YAY!!!!! (you have NO idea what a tremendous thing that is! prior to this, he could not sit with me during a church service because the sensory overload from hearing AND feeling the music was too instense for him....so, to sit through a CONCERT with NO earplugs AND get into it??? nothing short of miraculous, for sure!)

so then, after matthew was done, sarah & i went (again!) back to the van, to get our t-shirts & everyone's hoodies. on our way, we stopped in the matthew west signing line, where she got an autograph & i had an opportunity to tell matthew about the amazing thing the Lord had done in noah during his set. it was super rushed, though - they capped the signing lines & reeeeally pushed the people through there. crazy! anyway...

by the time we made it back to our seats, david crowder had already started. as we were walking up, i wondered how noah was doing - i was sure that we would find him either pre or mid meltdown at the sensory overload, since there was an hour and a half break between matthew & david. QUITE the opposite!!! he was FULLY engaged! singing, dancing, CLAPPING!! he even tried to whistle (which was more of a scream, but totally SOUNDED like a whistle! lol) - i wish i had known at that point in time that my camera took video, because i SO would have recorded it. i never thought i would see the day that noah would enter into abandoned worship like that - i was so overcome by seeing it that my own worship experience was VERY strange during david crowder's set. on the one hand, worship was INCREDIBLY easy for me, because it's always easy to worship when you're standing in the middle of a miraculous breakthrough, but, on the other hand, it was incredibly difficult to enter in, because, as a mother who has been DREAMING of this breakthrough, it was very difficult to not WATCH him. i did my best to do BOTH, and...to some extent, i did, but....still left a bit torn there. part of me wishes that i had entered into my own worship better than i did, because - regardless of what is going on around me, God is sovereign & my job is to worship. and then part of me wishes that i had spent more time allowing myself to enjoy watching noah's abandoned worship. i'm still getting all choked up thinking about it! (i DID take pictures, and i WILL be posting those once i get them uploaded) anyway...that was david crowder's set. crazy hair, GREAT songs, and watching a truly miraculous breakthrough happen with my son. i could have called it a night & gone home happy.

but jeremy was up next - so, i scratched that going home thought! lol

there were a TON of announcements after david crowder - a compassion promo, followed by a message from a now-grown compassion sponsored woman (very powerful!), and even more announcements. jeremy was supposed to start at 830pm, and he didn't start til almost 930pm. so, again, i partially expected another meltdown from noah, especially since it was now dark, so visual overload (lighting) was being added to audio overload (which he had already overcome). another quick prayer, but not allowing myself to doubt in what had happened during david crowder, and...he did great. he was a bit stressed out, so he coped by reeeeeally playing with the comb and reciting an ENTIRE...yes, an ENTIRE episode of yo gabba gabba (rather LOUDLY, i might add! the poor people around us! thankfully they seemed understanding!), but...not one time did he ask for the earplugs again, and not one time did he get upset. matthew, on the other hand, sacked out after like the 3rd song jeremy did & didn't wake up til we got back to the room. (wait, sarah, did he wake up after the signing line when i gave him to cameron? i think he did...yeah....)

but, it gets even better! ok, so noah (whoops! there it is again! "ok, so"....gah! lol) was totally disengaged this time, but...at least he wasn't upset, so...we can do this. after a few songs, jeremy started singing the "oh no, You never let go, through the calm & through the storm" song, and noah, totally of his OWN accord, stands up & starts singing along, at the TOP of his lungs! sang the entire song with jeremy....just singing his little heart out. then jeremy did another worship song (not one of his), and noah sang along with that one the entire time. i DID cry that time! lol man, nothing as powerful as hearing your child worship for the first time...and overcoming autism's sensory issues to do so made it even MORE powerful! then jeremy was trying to encourage the audience to jump/dance for the next song, when he was picking it back up a little bit & attempted (seriously...ATTEMPTED! lol) to do the robot. so, for the next 2 songs, noah danced the robot! my rockin' little dude - MAN, i'm proud of him! you have NO idea!!! :D (matthew sleeping all the while! poor tired little guy!)

next post = SIGNING LINE!!!! :D (any comments on that particular post, please try not to give anything away, just in case a *cough* certain someone *cough* reads this thread at some point....)

**edit to say that the matthew west song i couldn't remember is the "i love you more than the sun and the stars that i taught how to shine" - it's amazing what a little sleep can do! woke up with it stuck in my head! lol

yep, signing line. we left the show about 20 mins before it was supposed to end so we could get in line. and it's a GOOD THING we did - there were probably about 25-30 people ahead of us & we weren't sure were they were going to cap the line. matthew was still just passed out, and we were talking about how we were going to capture jeremy's reaction to the shirts, since swc staff weren't allowing pictures. cameron was the designated camera dude, so we were trying to figure it out - also trying to decide whether we should do a PICTURE or a VIDEO. we ended up deciding on video, and i think we decided that cameron would step out of the line to get it from the SIDE so they would have less to make a stink about (he also didn't have anything for jeremy to sign). when we got up to the door (the line itself was outside), we asked the swc staff why no pictures & they told us that we could TAKE pictures, we just couldn't take pictures WITH jeremy, because that would hold up the line. ok, understandable...kinda....shouldn't the ARTIST decide what they will & will NOT do in a signing line? anyway...

so, it's our turn, and cameron steps out of the way. so in front of jeremy, it's noah, me (holding matthew), and then sarah. noah starts us all of by saying, "jeremy!!! i watched you sing on the stage!" (something along those lines) and jeremy said, "yeah, i did! did you like it?" noah said yeah, & jeremy gave him a high five. (noah LOVED that! :) ) i quickly explained to jeremy that noah was autistic (met with a shocked, "really?!" from jeremy) and very sensitive to sensory input, started the night with earplugs & ended the night with NO earplugs - even sang along & danced to 2 of the songs." jeremy was in the middle of saying something like, "wow, that's amazing!" but was interrupted by noah saying, "hey jeremy! jeremy!" so jeremy turned his attention back to noah (and was interrupted by some lady cutting us in line to shove a cd in front of noah for jeremy to sign! grr...lol....jeremy signed it but didn't take his focus off of noah - he was TOTALLY listening to what noah had to say! yay jeremy! THANK YOU for that, if you are reading this!), and said, "yeah, buddy?" and noah said, "while you were singing on the stage, i danced the ROBOT for TWO WHOLE SONGS!" we all laughed & jeremy was saying something to noah about dancing the robot & him not being good at it.

i had my pink shirt folded up, with the pictures of todd's printed & tucked inside. we figured that, since i was holding a sleeping kid, jeremy wouldn't question unfolding the shirt. haha, figured THAT one wrong! lol he didn't unfold the shirt, but instead, just started signing at the end of my writing. so i said, "awww, you were supposed to unfold it!" so he started to unfold it (holding it up & reading it quickly as he did), and i pulled the picture printouts off to the side and said, "because you were supposed to see this..."

he took one look at the pictures, brought the shirt back down, and said, "ohhhh...myyyy....gosh. this picture is getting around all over the place!" we talked a little about that, and he (i think to help us NOT get in trouble for being there so long, according to signing line staff! lol) signed the printout of the pictures! lol.....the video is all of this, so once i upload my pics, if i can figure out how to upload the video, i'll get that posted. if i can't figure it out, sarah will upload it (i'm going to email it to her, because HER signing line experience is on there - but i'll let her post about that :) it was pretty amazing, though - i'm glad i got to see it firsthand! :D).

anyway...ok, so i know i'm giving a bit of info away to "someone" who might read this thread, but...i've kept it as vague as possible & think nothing has been given away TOO much, and i couldn't really share about my swc highlights without mentioning that! i'm trying to be very mindful of what i say & how i say it, though....

definitely priceless, though! we've got some banking to do tomorrow, and i have to get my dog, but..other than that, REST and uploading pictures (and video! hehe) are the ONLY things on my agenda, so...they should be up by then. and...i'll be able to post a little more about the REST of swc! these were just the highlights, according to me. :)

Oh my goodness Cori! I was so excited to read your review, I got online w/ my phone before even getting out of bed today to see if you'd posted! :p Yay!!!

First of all, "the reaction"...PRICELESS!!!! :)

Secondly, I was SO overjoyed to read about Noah's breakthrough! That really IS amazing!!! Praise God! No worries about the trying to worship God & watch him at the same time. Worship starts in the heart and I'm sure God felt your heart BEAMING with joy watching Noah in that moment :)

And a side note about the signing lines, I'm SO glad yall decided to get in early! When we had our Dallas CAMPout, we got there an HOUR AND A HALF before J's time & other people were already buzzing about hanging around there till he signed. Lucky for us, we were the first ones who thought to ask security if we could wait at the front of the line *wink* And lucky for us, they allowed it! *wink* Although we were not making them happy with our CAMPer mob! And the other time J had (or was scheduled to have) a signing line, I left 20 minutes before the end of his show (would've left earlier but that was right when singles from SLTB were starting to come out & I REALLY wanted to hear SLTB live!)...when I got to his line, there were already about 20 people in it! He ended up not signing that night (decided to throw out his voice instead :p) But I was glad I had at least TRIED!

lol kelly, you're so funny! i'm going to go take a shower so we can go do our banking & rescue my poor dog (who, i'm told, has had an EXCELLENT time running his little legs off on TWO ACRES & he is now a mud-covered fluff-ball! bath for him when we get home! lol), and then i will dump my pics (video! hehe *squeal*) to the computer & start uploading. i'll start with the video, if i can figure it out. if not, i'm sure sarah will have it up by the end of the day (i'm going to email it to her, too....her stuff is on there as well) :D

Sarah where are you?!?!?! :D

SWC-- summed up in a few words? Fun, fellowship, music…I could go on forever! :D

For the sake of time I am cutting out A LOT of details but I do want to share what were some of the highlights of the week for me :o

Wednesday night was the opening of SWC (and our first shift to work that night) we helped out at Josh Wilson’s table and we were able to chat with Josh after his set (he’s is a very neat guy and he’s getting married this week! YaY Josh!) :p

We were right across from the stage that night so we were able to see all of the artists who preformed: Sonflowerz, Josh, Riley Armstrong (one of the funniest guys ever!), Matt Brower, and Bob Smiley (yet another one of the funniest guys ever! We worked at his merch table a few nights later and were able to meet him, he’s very southern, very nice and totally hilarious!)

Thursday we worked the morning shift and we helped out at the Kutless table (I tell ya, Christian bands have thee COOLEST merchandise people, Cory, their merch guy, was super nice and helpful!)

Later that night we sat in on concerts! Matthew West was up first (one of my all time FAVORITES!) and after his show I got in his signing line and totally realized that I’d left my bag on my seat and his CD was in my bag--bummer! But I came up with an idea and he was happy to oblige--he signed my camera case, he-he! David Crowder Band was next, we missed some of his show due to MW’s signing line but what I saw of his show was AWESOME! It was hilarious when David called out an audience member to come and sing with him, and everyone loved it!

Jeremy Camp was the headliner that night and, as always, he puts on one of the BEST shows you could see! After announcing to the crowd that he and his wife Adie are expecting their third child, he and his band went into a rousing version of Mr. Rogers ‘Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood’, ha-ha! We left his show a few minutes early to get in his signing line and I’m glad we did because not long after we got there, the line was jam packed! Jeremy was being rushed that night because of the length of people who wanted to meet him, but he was still nice enough to chat with me for a few minutes. I first showed hi my copy of BUME and he was speechless (the best reaction your could egt) he explained to the guy sitting next to him what the CD was and he signed it for me, looking at my 'shirt' (lol) he then gave me a high five...then we started to get rushed and the lady in charge of the line wanted us to move along so I quickly slipped him the 'congrats' card from the CAMPer's...he was so suprised! He thanked me profuseley and gave me another high five...I wish I could have expalined to him more a lttle about it but I ned to move before the line lady escorted me out of the line--he had already talked me me for longer than the alloted 5 seconds, ha-ha! But we was WAYYY nice dispite the shortness of it all :)

Earlier that day we walked by Jeremy's merch table and we saw Adam...we remembered Laura teling us that we should ask him for his autograph and so we did, to which he responded 'i'm not Jeremy!'...we then told him 'yeah! Your Adam!' and he was totaly suprised! It was so funny! He liked being recognized and later that night we went and got a picture with him too, he-he! ...

The next night it was out turn to work the night shift so we missed MercyMe and Family Force 5 (but we DID hear FF5’s set from where we were set up that night, VERY loud, very crazy! )

Earlier that day though we were able to see BarlowGirl and Hawk Nelson (it was the second time id’ seen HN in a weeks time, crazy!) BarlowGirl gave about an hour long set and it was awesome! They played a few news songs including their new single ‘Beautiful Ending’ which has to be one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard! Hawk Nelson gave an equally amazing show, the crowd went nuts when lead singer Jason ran into the crowd for nearly 2 songs and held the microphone up to strangers to take the lead J

The next night was the last day of SWC *Insert ‘Awww!’ Here* BUT it was also tobyMac night *Insert ‘YaY!’ Here*.

I’d gotten grandstand passes (better seats) for both Jeremy and Toby’s set a few nights before and I’m happy I’d gotten them when I did! That night, Toby’s seats were SOLD OUT! I stakes out my seats earrrrly that day and got a GREAT seat! I left a blanket on it all day so it would be safe. Brandon Heath was the judge of a K-Love dance contest they had at a booth early that day and he sang us a little of ‘Give Me Your Eyes’ so that was a real treat to see (watching him try to breakdance was pretty funny too!)

I saw NeedtoBreathe’s set before rushing over to tobyMac’s signing line which was, to my surprise, before his show. I got there nearly an hour and a half early and it was worth the wait. They began to number people’s hands with blue sharpie because people were sneaking in line, it was THAT insane (I was number 22 for the record, he-he!)

They didn’t allow pictures to be taken with the artists in ANY signing line (Jeremy’s and Matthew’s included) so I wasn’t able to get a picture with Toby (although I got a few from outside the line, that was allowed) but I was finally able to go inside the signing tent and met him. He signed my copy of ‘Portable Sounds’ shook my hand and we had about a 10 second conversation before I started to be rushed by the line keeper. He is a VERY cool guy, he will look you right in the eye when you talk to him unlike most artists who talked to you AS they sign…he loves his fans, that’s for sure and next time I hope to speak with him for more than 10 seconds, ha-ha! :D

I got to see Leeland after the signing line and their show was amazing! They can help lead you into the presence of God like you would not believe! They had Brandon Heath come out again and sing a new song he and Leeland Mooring have on his new album, very moving! Their set seamed short to me but what I did see of it, I loved.

FINALLY! At 9:00 that night after an intermission that lasted a few hours, tobyMac and Diverse City came out and rocked the stage! I wish I could tell you what the set was…but when you get into a show so much, you kind of forget! A lot of the stuff was the same from Alive and Transported but with a TON more tweaks and changes to the songs including the inclusion of ‘One World’. He ended his set that night with ‘Jesus Freak’ (my all time favorite song EVER) and he, as always, stage dived--AND they dropped him! We all wondered if he was okay but he got right back up and gave us an encore of ‘Let’s Get This Party Started’ and ‘Na-Na’…the end was pure craziness and DC pelted the audience with water, it was pretty awesome!

Every night was different and wonderful…I met SO many amazing people! Even waiting in lines at the event led you to meet some of the nicest people. I already miss it, but I know that God is going to reap what was planted in me this past week, in my own life and in the lives of all who I come in contact with…God has something He needs to share through all this and I am more than happy to see it all begin. :)

Yay!!! Too cool Sarah :) Thanks again for doing the card! You SO rock for that! You know what I just thought of....a lot of times we get stuck in rushed signing lines like that w/ J (and other artists) & there are things we wanted pics of (ie, the card)....I wonder if he'd post pics of himself w/ it on his blog if we'd asked him to? I'll have to remember that for the future. So glad you ladies had a great weekend! Loved the Adam story! Hehehe...I guess he quickly learns who the TRUE Campers are :) (Still laugh every time I think about the first time I met him & a girl came up to him thinking he was Leif...hehe). He should so make a shirt that says "I'm not Jeremy" to wear to shows :p Ooooo...I think I just thought of my gift for him at my next show! *wink*

lol kelly, that's GREAT!

you know what i just realized, sarah? we were so busy being AT the event & taking in everything that we, personally & individually, were experiencing, we didn't EVER talk to EACH OTHER about those experiences! lol...how does THAT happen?!?! ...oh yeah....passing out at 1am & getting up between 5&7am, flying around in a rush to make it on time! lol yep, maybe camping next year IS better....(sigh, showers!!!!! oh how i love thee! lol)

i'm off to upload pics RIGHT NOW!!!! :D i'll try to upload the video first, after i email it to sarah.....and, if i can't get it, i'll have sarah post it asap. :D you'll see ALL of it (both of our signing experiences) in the video, but the sound is really hard to hear - you CAN hear it on the camera, but it's very quiet & muffled...not sure how the quality will transfer & play on the computer....

YAY!!! i had SO much fun (and, i MUST say that it was a GREAT time of fellowship with sarah, even though it was so busy & we didn't talk about deep things much...if at all!), but..i'm also glad to be home. but i'm SO counting down for the santa ana sltb show! :D

Hehe awwww....that's happened to me before too! Lana & I have met at 2 shows & hung out all day then we'd go our separate ways. (I HATE that she and I live so far apart! But if we lived closer together we might not EVER get anything done :p). We always come here and post our reviews and then read each other's as if we weren't there together through the whole thing :p Too funny!

I know that with my camera, the sound is always different when I upload it to the computer so you might be pleasantly surprised :) Can't wait to see it! (Have I said that enough already? :p)

ok kelly, is it possible to just put the video here in a post? or do i need to put it on youtube or something & post the link only? also, what about pics - i know we can post pics here, but....is there a secret formula? i'm gonna go eat real quick, see if i can kill this migraine before it turns into a monster & then i'll be back to try....

cori
08-03-2009, 05:17 PM
ok....yeah....i've got everything uploaded to my computer, but i can't figure out how to post them here. it keeps asking for a url, but i was just going to load them from the folder on my computer - do i HAVE to use a url to post?

Kelly
08-03-2009, 05:27 PM
Hey Cori, yes you have to use a URL to post pics, unfortunately. Or you can easily upload them to a site like photobucket and give us the link to see them all at once. Also, videos are not allowed here, so you'd have to upload to YouTube & post the link.

cori
08-03-2009, 05:34 PM
ok, i'll transfer it to youtube & then post the link....i don't have a photobucket account, so i'll have to figure something else out for the pictures. (i'm open to suggestions here....i have NO pic account anywhere....)

**edit to say that i'm TRYING, but youtube is being a HUUUUUGE bugger! when i click to sign in or upload a video file, it takes me to the "redirecting" screen & gets stuck there. if i somehow AM able to get past that, it just says there was an error & the page was not found. but i AM working on it! :S

cori
08-03-2009, 07:52 PM
ok, i'll go check out the link & see if i can copy & paste that one, too.

as far as the video, it's gonna have to wait. i have a screaming migraine, ayda, 2 over-tired boys, and youtube is NOT cooperating AT ALL! i try to sign in to youtube....99% of the time, it won't even change the screen. when it DOES change, it says i can't sign into youtube because i'm signed in to google, so i go to google to logout of that & when i go to log in again, it says i can log in to youtube with my youtube OR google account. so i try to log in with google & go through the same frustrating cycle....or, i try to create a youtube account, and it takes me right back to the same process i went through to create the google account & tells me that the username is already in use (gee, i wonder why!). i don't know if it's youtube, or google, or me, but...if i don't stop now, my computer WILL end up in a gajillion pieces! lol so....i'm gonna take a break from it, at least, but..it may have to wait til tomorrow. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr

if google MUST be proud owner of youtube & requires that you sign in through google, one would presume that once you DO sign in through google, you can USE youtube through google, no? >:l

Oh you guys!!! This is so cool. It sounds like you had an absolute BLAST!!! I"m so happy for you. Isn't it awesome how these message boards have brought so many CAMPers together and bonded us in friendship, to the point of getting together IRL for fellowship and such. What a blessing!

I love the signing line details! How utterly fun! The picture I saw in my mind of J's face when he saw the pink shirt and picture. FUNNY!

Your pictures were so much fun to look at, both of you. Were you able to pass out SLTB fliers? (I might of missed that when I was reading. I got 2 or 3 phone calls and might of accidently skipped over it.)

I'm looking forward to the video. :)

CamperGirl

The SWC people were VERY strict...you wern't allowed to pass out any flyers that wern't approved before before time. But I guess I can understand that...they wouldn't want ay unaproved material to be handed out that might decieve people (not that the STLB flyers would) but it's a tricky thing to deal with...maybe durring the STLB tour :)

cori
08-04-2009, 05:22 PM
ok.....i have to quit with the video, at least until i really catch up on my sleep. i don't know WHAT is going on, but...since yesterday, i have:

created a youtube account with my yahoo email
created a google account with my yahoo email
linked youtube & google with my yahoo email
created ANOTHER youtube account with my yahoo email
again connected it to the google account with my yahoo email
created ANOTHER youtube account with my HOTMAIL account
created a TANGLE account
attempted 4 times to upload the video in fb
attempted twice to upload it in myspace
tried twice to attach it to an email so sarah could upload it

NO GO, on ANY count. a friend of mine, who has (and has USED!) a youtube account, was here, and she tried to log in with her account, so we HAVE at least discovered that it is NOT operator error, and, in fact, a youtube/google issue.

it has uploaded to my computer from my camera just fine. i can watch it on my camera, on my tv through the camera, and on the computer from the downloaded file. i don't have a CLUE what the issue is, but it is NOT uploading, no matter WHERE i try!

i'll give it a few days, get past the sleep deprivation & over the migraine, and keep trying. in the meantime, does anyone know of a way that i can delete all these many accounts i have created? i do not WANT the accounts....and, when i start the upload process attempts again, i'd rather just start from scratch, re-creating accounts, rather than trying to remember what usernames & passwords i've already used (because i have a hard enough time trying to remember them & the ones i have used in creating all these accounts in such a short time have come out of sheer frustration & are basically the equivalent of smacking the keyboard & creating my account with whatever randomness resulted from the keyboard whack! lol).

i'm sorry guys - i SOOOOOOOOOOOOO want to get this video to you, but..it just is NOT letting me do it! :(

The picture I saw in my mind of J's face when he saw the pink shirt and picture. FUNNY! :)

he actually was speechless for a few seconds!!! lol, and, after explaining it to new guy sitting with him (presumably security, but...really, i think i could take him! lol) and signing the picture printout, i pointed out that we went with JESUS instead of jeremy, and he looked at me & SERIOUSLY stammered for a few seconds..."i...i.....i'm.....i'm glad...." lol PRICELESS!!!!

but, my favorite part of the video (and i've watched it a gazillion times to make sure there wasn't a problem dumping it from the camera to the computer...) is when the lady cuts in line to have her cd signed while jeremy is talking to noah - he glances down a couple times to make sure he's still writing on the
cd, but....other than that, his whole attention is on noah & what he's saying. that says SOOO much! most people on the signing end of a signing line wouldn't give a kid much of a chance to say anything, especially one that takes a few minutes to say what he's trying to say.....

LOL!!! We will enjoy seeing this when you are feeling better and can get it uploaded. Sit back and take some deep breaths, get rid of the migraine and get caught up on your sleep. You poor dear! That must be frustrating.

That's another thing I appreciate about Jeremy. He cares about each person and gives them his undivided attention when it's his or her turn in line. And the lady who put herself before Noah.... he calmly signed it, but didn't reward her rudeness with any attention. Perfect. Maybe she got the hint and next time will be a little more polite.

I'm SO happy you all had a wonderful time.!

Oh Cori, you poor thing! I'm so sorry! I agree that you need to just get away from it all and start over! I pray that it works for you when you do that!

I LOVE the reaction from J about the shirt! Toooo funny! I can so picture him saying that too!

And I agree about him making sure that the right people get attention! I love the picture that either Steph or Lana got of me w/ J at Celebrate Freedom. He was signing my CD and looking at me talking at the same time! Too cool! He REALLY does give you his FULL attention as long as possible. I remember when I met him in SA...he and Matt seriously came in with an entire posse of about 10-15 people (I remember scanning the room to see if any of them were the band members! :p Got so excited for a second! Oh well). But the attention I got from him and Matt made me feel like we were the only three in that room! So special! You don't get that from many artists!
