I am sure many of you got this, but I wanted to make sure it was here to. Jeremy just sent out an urgent prayer request for Steven Curtis Chapman and his family. Steven's daughter passed away. Please pray comfort from the Lord as this family struggles through this terrible situation.

Where are you getting this information?
http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080521/TUNEIN/80521174/1073/ENTERTAINMENT07
i swear if i hadn't seen it with my own two eyes i would not have believed it.
even though this situation has nothing to do with me, im hurting more thinking about it than i ever thought possible.
i cant help but think, why did this happened? this man, and his family, have done more for the kingdom of God (and ccm for that matter) then 98% of people you could mention. not to mention his work he gives to children, and orphans in general.
then you add to that the guilt her brother will feel for the rest of his life
they did not deserve this.
i know this sounds empty because noone deserves the death of anyone they love, but this case seems especially cruel and unusual.

Just a heads up....there is a story on Steven's official website....

Please don't read any other sites, as they could be filled with speculation and false details!

this song was the first thing i thought of when i heard.
"with hope" by scc himself
this is not at all
how we thought it was supposed to be
we had so many plans for you
we had so many dreams
and now you've gone away
and left us with the memories of your smile
and nothing we can say
and nothing we can do
can take away the pain
the pain of losing you but
we can cry with hope
we can say goodbye with hope
'cause we know our goodbye is not the end oh no
and we can grieve with hope
'cause we believe with hope
there's a place by god's grace
there's a place where we'll see your face again
we'll see your face again
and never have i known
anything so hard to understand
and never have i questioned more
the wisdom of god's plan
but through the cloud of tears
i see the father's smile and say well done
and i imagine you
where you wanted most to be
seeing all your dreams come true
'cause now you're home
and now you're free and
we have this hope as an anchor
'cause we believe that everything
god promised us is true so
we wait with hope
and we ache with hope
we hold on with hope
we let go with hope

This is so heartbreaking:(, and I will be praying for them constantly. During this terrible time, though I can't imagine how hard this must be on them, I hope that they can take comfort in the fact that even though they had Maria for such a short time, that Jesus is now holding her forever.

I am in shock and saddened by this news. I have followed SCC for years and can tell just how much he loves his adopted daughters like his own.

*May 25, 2008 this Sunday, A day of Prayer & Fasting in Loving Memory of Maria Chapman*
The Lord laid this on my heart- to have a day of prayer and fasting in memory of Maria Chapman the daughter of Steven Curtis Chapman and to honor the Chapman family with deep heart felt prayers reaching out for God's embrace of grace to touch them in a special way. This Sunday May 25th!
~Calling all prayer warriors to stand together on this day! If you feel called to participate, please pass on the word to others, prayers are needed! ~
Steven Curtis Chapman's song "Cinderella" strikes a special cord in my heart every time I hear it. I truly believe God was secretly preparing Steven and his family for this moment when He gave him this song. Every time I hear it I just want to be still and listen to every word, the words hold on to my heart. Steven's little Cinderella is now dancing with her Prince of Peace, her Heavenly Father. Just, remember every time a storm ends in our life we become deeper vessels for God to use in ways we never imagined. God will give you each the strength. Stay weak in His strength and you each will be even stronger spiritually.
Breathe Him ~Leigh
Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things God works for the good to those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

its well over 13k now.
this last couple of days have been unbelieveable.
i dont think i'll ever be the same.
keep those prayers coming..for the family and esp. the Boy.
yes yes yes.
i have actually seen people (not on this message board, but on others) arguing over which brother is was, and the fact is, it doesn't matter.
but, whoever it was, his life was changed the most dramatically that day, and we can not stop lifting him up. he needs it. he depends on it.

*serious bumpage*
we must continue to pray for the chapmans, and not let ourselves become so numb to bad news that we "forget" after a couple of weeks.
they cant forget, so neither should we.
please continure to think of scc and marybeth, and all of their children... (especially Will).
personally, i continue to be amazed by their faith. their oldest son, caleb, released the statement that "Through this tradgedy God has shown himself to me and my family more clearly than ever"
and to think this guy is only 18! he speaks with a knowledge well beyond his years.
