Wow
So I bought tickets for a show at the end of october. and i just found out about the meet and greet camp crew thing.
So...i signed up yesterday for the membership and the meet shows meet and greet
is the meet and greet guaranteed?
CamperGirl

It is deffinatley guaranteed. :o
You should be getting an e-mail about the Meet and Greet instructions, but it is basically showing up at Jeremy's merchandice table the night of the show (with your Camp Crew lanyard) and telling his merch guy (his name is Adam, blonde hair, pierced lip, normaly wears a hat) that your there for the meet and greet...he'll know what to do! :)
Awesme to hear you joined...these M&G's are a TOTAL blessing (and BTW--welcome to the boards!) :o

thanks sooo much!
Im so excited now to meet jeremy!
how long does the meet and greet last?
CamperGirl
09-30-2009, 12:40 PM
It normally depends on how many people go into the M&G...the first one I went to back in March consisted of maybe 10 or more people and it lasted maybe 20-25 minutes, he tries to speak to everyone individually so he will deffinatly go out of his way to speak with everyone for a good amount of time. A GREAT hint? Try to be the last one he talks to--about 50% of the time, the last person to speak with him gets the most time (I used this trick last time and it works VERY well ) :)

Haha, great tip CamperGirl, you catch on quick. ;)
I go last so that I don't have to shoo him away to talk to other people. LOL

I had that same idea if I ever get to do a m&g. I'm still waiting for that type of concert in MN as music festivals don't count.

Same goes with the signing line.

Definitely. Being last has its perks.
Also, staying late/helping to clean up can be a perk. I remember one gig where J didn't have a signing line, but eventually he came out and talked with those of us who were cleaning up.
Only reason I was there is because I didn't want to fight the traffic, so I helped. By the time my crew and I left, the parking lot was empty.

...but be warrned, sometimes in signing lines, the lines get cut off. When Jeremy is on tour you won't run into that problem, he will do his best to see that he get to speak with everyone. But if it's a Summer festival or something like Rock And Worship Roadshow, then I would try to get into line early. After all,' Jeremy's bus might leave without him'...right Cori? LOL! :D
All this to say, the meet and greets are a WAY easier option than trying to make it into a signing line. Those are always fun, but you get way more one-on-one time without feeling rushed in a M&G. Your in for a real treat :o

HAHAHAHAHAHA, yeah right! i still can't believe they did that to us! (but at least we DID have the m&g...AND we were the last ones there for it, too!!!)
the m&g ROCKED....and.....let me just say that i had a LOT of reservations about the whole idea going into it!

We're talking about the M&G, not signing line. But you're right, it's always a gamble. Usually it pays off, but if it doesn't, oh well, others got blessed!

There's also the option of going through a signing line kind of early then hanging out for the end. I've done it before and you can see some interesting antics. This could be helpful if they are limiting the # of items you can get signed.

Kind of making up for lost time here, since the last time I posted before tonight, we were still on the old boards and there wasn't a Camp Crew established yet.
Now that I know it exists, and that the M&Gs and ticket presales are a couple of the many perks, I'm thinking of signing up, since M&Gs are always fun. I do them with 3D whenever they're offered at a show I'm at. And you can't beat presale tickets. :)
A couple of general pondering-ments:
Can someone tell me if there is actually going to be a M&G after the NC State Fair show Friday night? The Dorton Arena folks are funny about their scheduling, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they managed to figure out a way to botch up a scheduled M&G there.
And if there IS one, if I were to sign up tonight or tomorrow - meaning I definitely wouldn't expect to get any of the club goodies before Friday, which I'm fine with - would I still be able to participate?
Does it sound like my signing up for the Camp Crew right at this point is sort of hinging on this? Sorry, it is. ;) Raleigh has never been a regular tour stop for J in the three years that I've been a fan (Friday will be the first time he's come here that I know of), so the two major perks - M&G and ticket presales - will most likely end up being wasted if I sign up, if past scheduling history (and past experience with other clubs) is any indication.
But if I know I'll be able to participate in even the ONE M&G, I might be able to justify signing up anyway. :)
But if it turns out that all I do is the concert Friday night, it's all good. That alone is worth the price of admission (especially when admission is only $15. After coughing up some serious $$ to see U2 twice this year, $15 for a concert is pretty sweet! And it's J to boot. First time in two years. )
Thanks, y'all.
~ K ~
i'll check the camp crew m&g schedule for you real quick & see if your show is listed there. :)
**edit to say: i do not see ANY m&g's listed for NC. but, that's only for this tour.....when you join, the membership is for a year, so...that's not to say that there won't be an m&g in NC AFTER the sltb tour....hope that helps! :)

Thanks for checking. I sort of figured as much, stuff at the state fair is an iffy deal most times, 3D still had THEIR M&G last Friday, but thanks to the set up at the arena, it didn't go off as planned and wasn't anything like their usual M&Gs.
J comes by this way so seldom, I'll probably just wait for any additional tour dates to be announced before I do anything. If history repeats itself, it could be another 2 years before he's close enough for me to hit another show after this one.
I shall just go and enjoy the concert for the concert itself tomorrow night. Wrangled front row center for it, so it should be excellent. Can't wait. :)

Die-Hard? Me? :p The one who hasn't paid the boards a visit since September of 2008 and has been gone so long I didn't remember my own login info?
But yeah, I could always make a trek to go see him if J wasn't coming anywhere near me, but I've kind of gotten away from that these days. For nearly everyone, not just J. The ones that are reasonably close always seem to be summer festivals, and after nearly keeling over from the heat at Kingsfest several years ago, I don't do those anymore. All the other shows the last two years have been further away than I've been willing to drive, or timing was just bad, requiring vacation time and motel money that I didn't have to spare. The last time I did any serious drive time for any concert (excluding U2 last month, when we flew up to Vermont and then drove the 4 hours to Boston, and that was a serious exception to my no traveling rule) was going to see J at the unplugged show in SC in 2007, I think. I've pretty much skipped anything else that I deemed "too far to drive" since then.
*scolds self* Bad J fan. BAD! :o
ps: Love your douglas adams quote. I'll have to remember that one... :D

KAREN!!! Hi!! I've thought about you so many times! How are you?! Wow, it's nice to hear from you.
I'm guessing Jeremy will sign after the concert. Hang out until most people leave, and he often comes out. Come on, like Steve said, you are a die-hard! lol.

What kind of Happy Camper would I be if I didn't pop my head in here and poke around with a JC concert in three days, lol.
Kind of glad there isn't an actual M&G after the show this time, I'm so far over my concert budget this year, it isn't even funny, and if there had been one, I probably would have coughed up money I couldn't really afford to sign up for it.
But I had been thinking about sticking around after the show, I remember at the SC unplugged show in 07 he came out and signed stuff for a bit afterwards. And it's not like I've got to drive 5 hours to get home this time either, the worst that will happen is I miss the bus to take me back to my car and have to wait 20 minutes for another one. Then after that, the fairgrounds is all of about 20 minutes from my house. So hanging out a bit shouldn't be a problem.

TWO MORE DAYS
CamperGirl
10-22-2009, 06:06 PM
It normally depends....I think the first M&G I went to had maybe 10 or 11 people...
You can talk to Jeremy about whatever is on your heart! If it's telling him how much his music has effected you, or even something random and silly, he is totaly open and VERY welcoming to whatever anyone has to say, a lot of the time he will strike up conversation with you first. :o
Two day? YaY! Have fun, and make sure to tell us all about it! :)

10-24-2009, 08:16 AM
does the meet and greet happen before or after the concert? or during other artist sets?
Kelly
10-24-2009, 09:28 AM
The M&G is usually a half hour after doors open, so you shouldn't miss any of the other artists (that's only if it's a regular show - not a state fair)
i totally agree with sarah & kelly. the first time i talked to him, it was about blankets (although that conversation was very short lived - most of that conversation was with adie) and operator-error (me!) with a new camera. the second time i talked to him was about a HUGE touch of God on my autistic son during jeremy's set (well, the whole night, really, but the biggest breakthrough happened during jeremy's set) at spirit west coast monterey. neither conversation was awkward (outside of my own personal awkwardness at talking to people i don't know, i mean) or forced - it seriously was like talking to someone i had known for years. AND...for what it's worth, my autistic son considers jeremy a long time family friend - he had NO reservations about talking to him, which is HIGHLY unusual for him. :)
and....while i am SO glad the m&g isn't during another artist's set, i must confess that i would GLADLY miss part of the set to go to the m&g. *blush* it has nothing to do with the other artists, but the personal touch that jeremy gives to the m&g beats ANY concert (even his own!). i've never been one to get all gushy over a celebrity, but joining camp crew has definitely been the BEST investment i've made all year! (you know...other than groceries! hehe) they are SUCH a blessing!!! have fun!!!!! :)

He usually does unless he has family there, or is visiting friends (like in CA), or if the venue closes up at a certain time and he needs to leave. A few times he's missed due to not feeling well or if he blew his voice out. But he usually signs.
Often if you hang around the venue, he comes out after about 20 to 30 mins.
Even when he doesn't come out, most of the rest of the guys do. Leif is almost always out, as well as Andy and Donnie. Randy and Walt I see less often, but they come out, also. So even if Jeremy doesn't, you should be able to chat with the others. And Adam is always out in the booth, though he is usually really busy out there. (Which is a good thing. :))

I am attending the show in Valdosta, GA in April. I have seen Jeremy twice in concert & he has signed after the shows. I have seen shows in Valdosta before but the don't always allow the artist to sign after the show. I am thinking about joining the fan club but I don't know if they offer a Meet & Greet for this show. Does anyone know? Any help would be great!

it depends on the venue...but many times they try to. If it's at a festival/fair grounds then it might not happen.
Kelly
02-11-2010, 07:41 PM
As Jennifer said, festivals & fairs usually don't have them (although a lot of the time, they'll at LEAST have a signing line). And Jeremy LOVES to meet his fans so I know he'll have some sort of signing any chance he can get.
LauraA
02-19-2010, 10:14 AM
If he does an unscheduled signing at a festival, hang around after his concert and keep an eye out for him. Also, you can ask Adam (his merchandise guy). He usually knows or can find out. Also, Leif likes to walk around the fair grounds. I've seen Andy out mingling, too. Randy is usually at the Compassion stand if there is one, so you can look there for information on signings. I think Walt is usually hanging in back talking to his sweetheart on the phone. lol. Ahhhh, young love. :)
I STILL don't know if there will be a meet and greet for camp crew on 2/28. Frustrating. Oh well, what will be will be. The Lord will be there and it will be a blessing regardless of meet and greets or signings, or lack thereof. Go with the flow......

laura, i've been checking every day for you. the last few times i have checked, there has been NOTHING posted, so i emailed dan to ask about the monterey show (which is an unplugged show on 3-7). he told me that there would be a m&g for that show, and that he would be posting dates soon - and i am SO kicking myself in the behind for not asking about the 28th in the same email. i will check that right now & email you (via fb) and let you know if the dates are up yet. but..if they are not, you should email dan & ask him, especially since that is coming up VERY quickly!!!! i'll let you know as soon as i find something out.

lol todd.....it's the acronym that laura & i labeled ourselves with shortly after i joined the boards, based on things that we have very much in common. it stands for:

Giving
Grannies

Attention
Deficit
Disorder
hahahahahaha.....both of us have blonde moments....both of us love to bless others through giving....both of us have grandchildren WHILE we are raising children....neither of us have ADD, but we both are easily distracted & forgetful more frequently than we'd like, so we put that. we've since added probably every OTHER letter of the alphabet to that, based on similarities, but decided to just keep it BUGGWADD, lest we have to type out the entire alphabet everytime we post it. we usually post it when we've just shared something that we think the other has probably done, or would do (or in response, if we've done what the other just shared).

He often signs, but I don't think he usually has the Camp Crew Meet and Greet.

They still haven't added KC yet. There is one the night before in Kentucky, not for KC yet. Do they add M & G's often?

What I've noticed is that they sometimes get added in chunks at least for the fall and spring tours. The summer dates may vary as many of them are part of festivals where M&G's are not as common but signing lines tend to happen more often.

Both: Seasonally it's spring...Meteorogically it's summer

I sent Dan a message.... He said due to security issues and the way the ball park is set up, they won't be able to do a m & g. :'( I hope that won't cancel out signing, too!
