This is one I have to revive from the OB. There have got to be more musicians out there, and this can be a great place to talk about our gear and maybe get some advice on new stuff to get. I'll start:

I've got quite a collection of guitars: I've got an Ovation acoustic-electric (Marguerite), a Hofner Image acoustic (Henriette), a strat copy (Isabelle), a green-burst Les Paul copy (Eva), an Epiphone SG Special (Mercedes), and two basses: a four-string Samick Corsair P-bass (Sammy), and a four-string Yamaha fretless P-bass (Nekkid).

Amps:
A Fender FM15 DSP -- a small practice amp
A Fender 1x15 bass combo amp, which is unfortunately on the fritz
A Gallien-Krueger Backline 600 amp head -- currently running through a friend's Peavey 2x15 bass cab until I can get a cab of my own

And for your drooling pleasure...

As for the gear I'm looking for, my MusiciansFriend Wishlist gets purged every so often.

What I'm currently looking for:

Peavey Valveking 112 tube amp
Peavey, Ampeg, or GK 1x15 and 2x10 bass cabs (8 ohms)
Digitech Vocalist Live 2 harmony processor
Fender P-bass
Peavey XR8600 PA system with 2 PR12s and PR15s (having both sets means having more options)
Gibson BurstBucker set for Eva
Boss Delay, Compression/Sustainer, and Noise Suppressor pedals
And Grover 6-in-line Tuners for Isabelle

I went to Portland with friends after work this... erm, yesterday morning. They dropped me off at Guitar Center.

You would not believe how many thousands of dollars worth of stuff my hands went through today. NICE Martins, BEAUTIFUL Les Pauls, the VG Strat, and, of course, some loverly Ovations (particularly the Celebrity with the Koa top. OMG!). And more, naturally.

So I figured out what I'm going to be getting:

Peavey Valveking 112 (played more extensively today than I've been able to in the past). I like its sound.

Fender Acoustasonic 30 DSP (or something like that). I was able to play an Acoustasonic Jr. and I LOVED its sound (the Martin I first tried wasn't working -- I think its battery was dead. But the Breedlove worked VERY well). It has some built-in effects (duh), and I liked the variation offered. Very pretty stuff.

Just speak soothing words like 'dont worry about what the other guitars look like, you're more special than them' and they'll be fine!

And, "Don't worry, babe, you're the only axe for me."

So I finally got a Shure SM58 microphone tonight. I'm going to test it out tomorrow morning. Everything appears to be in good working order (I got it on eBay).

Im sorry but dont just call a band satanic by their metal style or location, its not on.

I dont know about arch enemy and they may be satanic, but i hate it when people stereo type metal bands just like you did there. You disrespect a genre and you're also direspecting the nation of sweden.

End of rant (no offence intended).

dude.. metal is by far my favorite style of music.. and yes.. Arch enemy is into some satanic stuff.. i dont go saying stuff like that without researching.

but most metal bands from Sweden pretty much all call themselfs Black Metal, in other words, its basicly their way of saying... "oh yeah, we <3 satan."

Okay, so I know the next two acoustics I'm getting:

1. Ovation Celebrity Acoustic-Electric with a Koa top and neck. BEAUTIFUL, and it sounds oh so pretty.

2. Ovation Celebrity Series CC54I-PL iDea Mid-Depth Acoustic-Electric.

What's so special about the iDea?

Go here: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ovation-Celebrity-Series-CC54IPL-iDea-Mid-Depth-Acoustic-Electric-Guitar?sku=508169

I'd say it's perfect for a singer-songwriter (or for me, who will play, get lost in worship, and have no clue what I was just singing).
