Ok well the website has yet to announce the dates, but itickets has already announced TWO Tx dates!!!!! :D We can either drive up to Austin for just the concert and stay at my friend's place for the night, or go to corpus and make a beach roadtrip outta the whole thing....

I for one am all about the beach trip, even though it would obviously be more expensive. YAY!!!! So excited!!!!!

I have met him so many times(he is the President of the company that puts on a few of the concerts I go to every year...Life Promotions).

So it turns out, I didn't have to do much convincing to get my friends to go 4 hours to see the concert instead of 1 hour. They're all for an entire beach weekend trip! Woohoo!!!!

I was hanging out with some friends yesterday including the one who I've been talking with about this concert, and we had this great convo....I had to share:

Ben: So we should probably think about getting tickets soon. And we need to find more people to go with us. It'd be awesome to get a whole group together. And they're GA right?
Me: Yeah so we don't have to get them all at the same time. I wonder how the handicap seating works though.

I don't understand how they're doing the tickets because the one in Corpus was on sale on itickets for weeks but not listed as on sale on the main festival website....then a few days ago it said "tickets for this event will go on sale soon" and now it says "Tickets for this event are no longer available via phone or web. Tickets will be available at the event"

wow...um....weirdness. I know the October 18th one is cause it is for another festival thing that Bob Lenz's company here, it is like 20 minutes away, puts on(they do 2 festivals a year, Lifest and Power Of One, this one is Power Of One).

My show was yesterday. I have to say it was one of the best days ever. I got to see and meet my (now) 2nd favorite band for the first time ever, Capital Lights. and if anyone is going to it...please go early and support Capital Lights...they are amazing guys.

I hope we make it for them. Just found out that the start time is an hour and a half earlier than originally posted! We check into our hotel at 4. The drive to the show is about a half hour, and the doors open at 5. I believe the pre-show starts twenty minutes after doors open, so that doesn't give us a huge window, but we may make it just in time!

at my show it was them...but according to the schedule thing they gave it was supposed to be Esterlyn. I think they do go first cause of Jonny(guitarist) playing with RKR on at least one song.

I took my 4 oldest kids and 5 of their friends to the opening show in Cincy as part of their birthdays. It was AMAZING!!! Thousand Foot Krutch blew the roof off! I wish they would have been able to play more songs. I love the guys from Capital Lights and Esterlyn. The guys in the audience were lovin the ladies from Fireflight and an awesome new worship band called Worth Dying For. Run Kid Run, Pillar and Kutless were amazing, as usual, and KJ-52 was great taking it "old school". Bob Lenz is hysterical! We were able to take camera in and have awesome pics as we were standing in front of the stage! My oldest daughter and I even got pics with 3 of the Cincinnati Bengals players who were there. It was nice to see some Bengals out past midnight doing something decent and not out causing trouble and embarrassing Cincinnati.:D If you can get to one the remaining shows I suggest you go!!!

Awesome! You MUST share those pics! I'm SOOOOO excited!!!!! I've been wanting to see Kutless since I started listening to them. And I've been trying to get to a TFK show for like 5 years! Just recently started listening to Fireflight and I'm excited to see them as well! According to Ticketmaster, cameras are not allowed at our show, but I'm going to call the venue to verify cause that would be so not cool! :p

I really like it...I am pretty sure the girl like right in front of Bryson(like 2 or 3 in front of you it looked like) is one of my friends. haha. Now I am listening to my favorite "local"(i got yelled at by the bassist for calling them local) perform at the same show I saw this tour at...haha.
I remember that Capital Lights was in Memphis with Hawk Nelson...but I don't remember hearing about them in Nashville...and the only reason why they did memphis date was cause Run Kid Run was here that day.

that sucks that you didn't make it for Capital Lights. From what I remember of the TFK set at my show they actually did quite a few off the other albums....only like 3 off of The Flame In All Of Us(What do we know, Falls Apart and i can't remember). yes...v-necks and vests are very popular on that tour(vests mainly worn by the Esterlyn guys).

don't like ever have a band sign in silver sharpee...it comes out in like 2 washes. My Capital Lights shirt was signed in a silver sharpee...you can kinda see 2 of them, not so much on 2 more and the other one is non exsistant now. I have shirts that I have washed a few times and they still have the siggies.

I heard about the Bengals part from I think Pillar. haha. WDF is amazing...you should check out their youtube videos...I could stop laughing during the "rip stick" video. TFK...I love them again.

So the festival was AWESOME! Especially since it was in a TINY venue with a surprisingly low attendance. I expected this place to be huge and packed. There were no more than a few hundred people there! And of course since it was the last night of the tour, that meant only one thing....PRANK NIGHT!!!! Oh the pranks that were pulled :p I'll have to post my review tomorrow cause it's getting late.

And I'm SAD cause the venue stressed that no cameras of any kind were allowed, but EVERYONE had cameras! I totally should've tried to sneak mine in! :( Oh well.

ooo...awesome. that would have been fun. did you make it in time for Capital Lights?(it looked like you didn't on the concert thread). tell us about the pranks. haha. my show had about 3,000 people there...but it was pretty much standing room only cause they had only one thing of riser/bleachers and like maybe 100 chairs set up.

Sure didn't :( The directions my friend got online led us to the complete opposite side of town, so we stopped and asked for directions and they gave us the wrong directions, so we stopped again, got wrong directions again...stopped one last time and finally got the right directions! We left @ 4, didn't get there till almost 6 and Capital Lights had already played :(

There were supposed to be 5 of us going on this trip and we had reserved the Holiday Inn Suite which had a living area, ocean view, and 2 HUGE flatscreen tvs....well 3 people bailed, so my friend and I got all excited that we'd have this whole suite by ourselves. But we get there and find out our room is not even CLOSE to a suite! It was actually the smallest hotel room I'd ever seen! We went and told the receptionist that we thought we were in the wrong room and explained to her what room we were supposed to have and she goes "We don't have ANY rooms like that! Where did you get that info?" So we showed her the printout from the internet and she was just shocked! They had posted info for the wrong hotel on the site! We wanted to get some of our money back cause there was no way we were paying $70 each for that room! They told us they'd rather call a neighboring hotel and see if they had any rooms close to what we expected. So we ended up switching to a different (and CHEAPER) hotel! No suite...no ocean view....but cheaper was good enough for us since we were 3 people short and had to cover it ourselves. So then we walked over to the beach and hung out till it was time to leave for the show. We left at 4 and followed the directions my friend had printed out, but they led us out to the middle of nowhere! Not a house, building, or person in site...and the street that the venue was supposed to be on was nonexistent. We found a gas station and asked for directions only to find that we were on the WRONG side of town. So we followed the directions we were given, and they led us to a dead end street! So we stopped again and asked for directions and they led us to the wrong place....stopped again, and FINALLY got the right directions! But by this time, it was now about a quarter to 6! We'd been driving around Corpus for TWO HOURS looking for this place!!!!! And because of that, we missed Capital Lights! Got there as Esterlyn was playing. They announced that it was the last night of the tour, which I'd forgotten, which meant PRANK NIGHT!!!! Oh my goodness the pranks were hilarious!!!! KJ-52 came out on stage during Fireflight's set and swept around the stage. Then all of a sudden these guys went into a hoe down playing Rocky Top....too funny! There was also some random guy dressed as a hot tub....hard to explain that one, so I'm not even gonna try hehe. Then all of a sudden we noticed something flying around above the stage...someone had pulled out the remote control helicopters! Hehe. During TFK, Pastor Harry (who was the speaker for the night btw....was looking forward to Bob Lenz :( Oh well!) came on the video screen behind them and was dancing all goofy to one of their songs. I was dying of laughter! That guy's hilarious! Then some guys came out and did jumping jacks onstage, then played catch. During Kutless, these two guys got up on a platform way up high and pulled out fishing poles and tried hooking different things. Too funny! Then the topper came after one song, when a bunch of guys stormed the stage and each Kutless band member got silly-stringed to death by an entire can! I was dying cause I didn't have my camera for all this!!! So sad! How often do you get to see stuff like all that you know? :( After the show we went back to the hotel and Armaggedon was on so we watched it...that is one LONG movie! Wasn't over till 3!!!! We both crashed, then woke up for the free hotel breakfast which was AWFUL! I will never again eat at a hotel breakfast! YUCK!!! We hung around the island for a bit, did some shopping, fed the seagulls, went to lunch, then my friend wanted to come back home :( Boo!!! I could've stayed there all day just staring at the beach, but he was bored out of his mind. Oh well. It was an interesting trip overall to say the least :p
