Yesterday and today I have been going out on a limb and attending the Atlanta Outpouring meetings...which seems to be an offshoot of the Lakeland revival. Tonight after one song of worship to get everyoen warmed up, they decided to go ahead and take up the love offerings before the worship began and everyone was asked to return to a seat. Being in my wheelchair i already had a seat technically speaking, so I decided to temporarily park next to a lady seated in some of the first rows. She was wearing a name badge with "staff written on it. After a good 10 minutes she suddenly turned and greeted me and began to speak saying with a sugary false professional tone: "Excuse me, is there any particular reason they have you seated up here or do you need something?" I apologized and said no...explaining that i had just temporarily parked as they had asked everyone to find a seat while the offering was being taken up. She then replied:" Well, the problem is that afterwards, you see, we are going to have worship. We have a side section over there for the wheelchairs, so you should go over there. My reply (in a friendly polite laughing tone): "Well, the wheelchair really wants to go up front and center and worship the Lord...if that is OK. I guess you can kind of say I break the wheelchair stereotypes." Flustered and not replying she quickly got up and moved across the way to the side section in the bleachers. I guess they had a side section set up for "normal people" too:):) Sometimes it pays to hold your ground. Man, I had some awesome praise and worship going on...cuttign loose in ways i never have before:):)

Wow! Good for you standing your ground! I could've understood if you were in someone's way, but it doesn't sound to me like you were! I've been on both sides of that same situation....I went to a festival years ago and weasled my way up to the front with my friends and we were there for about 35 minutes when security came up to us and told us we had to go back to the handicap area....but on the other hand I'm going to a festival next week and the guy in charge told me i could sit up front with security if I wanted :)

I'd be tempted to say, "Well, since it's not "normal" to treat people like this, I'd say that YOU belong over there!" Oops. No, I'd never say anything like that, but it does burn me to think that you were treated like that. But we have to remember that a soft answer turns away wrath. Jeff, praise God that you gave God praise like never before! And especially with what you've been through the past few weeks. Good for you! Kelly, it's AWESOME that you get to sit up front with security!!!! Enjoy. Don't forget the song list, if you think of it~ we may be getting some some new stuff. Yeah!

Oh dont worry....ill do the same thing I did at the last concert....my phone has a nice little notepad feature, so every time a song started, i typed in the initials for the song title....it was quite fun trying to decode this:

You did better than me. I totally forget everything when I'm there.
