I was so close to going! :( But we decided it was too much. I hope to catch the Creationfest tour though!!!

OK. I remember now, on the old boards, a few people were coming. I forgot about that, and did not get ahold of them or meet any new Campers. I did meet this one rad older guy in the line for The Afters and we talked about music and indy albums and such.

Creation was, well HUGE. To be honest, Alive suits me better. A crowd of 70,000+??? Oh my word. I prefer Alive's 20,000!! The thing that stinks is when you've got awesome worship bands like David Crowder and Jeremy Camp who aren't necessarily "worship" per se like Chris Tomlin, you get all kinds of people in the crowds. Most of them don't know the songs. And when you've got ADD and are always looking around, you get distracted real easily. I have a request from the guys at festivals: Please do not hold and touch your girls like you're about to go to bed with them after the show! That is VERY distracting!!

I digress, and let's finally get to J! This was my 34th show in my 8th state!

For some reason, his set felt really short, even though it wasn't too short. It was a FANTASTIC way to finish off the festival. TobyMac played after him, which was great because that meant we could leave early and go see J when he signed! ;)

One thing I noticed was the Pennsylvania State Troopers and a Sheriff. I can't judge their hearts or their minds, but I did notice that most of the time they were watching the stage instead of the crowd during J's set!! I hope they were ministered to, saved or not!!

J was really fresh... he had some fresh stories and he was on fire. There was a new song, and some Matt Redman love, which was GREAT! I haven't heard "You Never Let Go" covered yet, and to have J lead us with that song was wonderful!

For those who want it, here's the set list. For those that the list would ruin the show, skip this part! The latter is more like me, but people are always asking.

No Matter What
Take My Life (very happy to see this back!)
Tonight
Take You Back
Right Here
I Still Believe
Walk by Faith
You Never Let Go (Matt Redman love)
Give You Glory
Let it Fade
Speaking Louder Than Before (I think that was the title - new song.)
Lay Down My Pride

Oh, and for you folks who wanted pics... Um, I mentioned before the 70,000 plus people. Add to that the fact that the stage was so far from the front row, I couldn't even get decent pics from the front during the day! So, I left my camera at the hotel during the week. I regret not taking other pictures such as a scenic route we found and the lookout point at the top of a hill at Creation, but I really enjoyed the festival without the weight around my neck! :)

Thanks for the laugh, Todd! :)

Hey Todd, Up until a couple weeks ago, I was still planning on going up for Saturday to see J and hopefully meet you..but it didn't work out. Work was just too crazy. and after so recently getting back from Alive (see post in What's up?) I just couldn't work out.

Glad you got to go and my group had such a wonderful time at Alive we're already planning on going next year!

Hey, thanks Todd! I'm glad you had a good time. So Jeremy did sign, then? How did that go? Did you get to chat with any of the other guys in the band? How was Adam doing? Did you see the new shirts and stuff in the merch booth? 70,000 + people. Wow. I would very much prefer a smaller "crowd", too. So you were in the front? Did J see you when he was on stage?

Thanks again for the "review". I always love reading these!

I much prefer Alive, but the lineup wasn't great this year.

Oh man, way too many people probably for J to even pick out one person.
No, I didn't even see Leif, who usually wanders around.
I was surprised and how short the autograph line was (comparatively speaking), but I'd say a big majority of the people up front for J were waiting around for TobyMac anyway, so it was just craziness. Fine by me! :)

Oh great, so you did get to talk with Jeremy. Was he surprised to see you? What in the world do you give him to autograph after that many concerts? lol

Actually, I still have a stack of magazines and a few random CDs I found on ebay that J hasn't signed. Usually I either forget these, or in the case of Creation I left it at my chair a mile away (I had brought a cool Adoration Tour CD), I went right to the line after the show. So most of the time, I stand in line and just say what's up for a few minutes.

It's funny because he did seem a little surprised. It's been a while. He started to say "What are you...?" but he didn't finish. :p

It's so cool when they remember you cause you know those people meet HUNDREDS of people a day pretty much!

A few months ago I went to see one of my favorite artists when he did a local concert and I went and met him afterwards....we had a blast just chatting (he's another one of those rare down-to-earth musicians). Then a month later I went to see him again at another local show and met him once again afterwards....I rolled up to him and he goes "Kelly right?" I was shocked! For both shows I was up front and center and the cool thing was that when we were talking at the second show he actually thanked me for being up there! :) I was like "I wouldn't be anywhere else!" :p I'm going to see him again in August...so excited! :)

That's so funny! It's shocking how he can remember our faces, names, and even which part of the country we are from.

As far as leaving your stuff sitting on a chair, that's where purses come in handy. LOL. But it's better YOU leave them sitting rather than carry a purse. ;)

Did Jeremy's voice/throat seem to be bothering him at all? I know in Rockford he was still recovering from the week before when he blew it out.

I'm glad you had a nice time, Todd. :) Are ya ready for school? As Matt mentioned in his recent update/blog, it's a new season.

My friend hopeful dreamer that used to be on the old boards went also this year.
She also said that Jeremy Camp and Chris Tomlin were great.
I really want to see J again and meet him again

He was drinking tea, so I think his voice may have bothered him a little, but it didn't show.
(Is it sad and pathetic that I noticed the tea-drinking? Be honest!)

I am ready for school... and especially excited that I am squeezing one more show in!
August 3rd in Cleveland. Thanks for reminding me, Bekki!!

I think the reason J remembers where we're from is that he has to prepare himself before the show.
"Oh man... Michigan again, better get some sleep!" ;)

Hey Kelly, what is the local band you enjoy so much?

Radney Foster....he's not exactly "local" but he does the majority of his shows here because he's from here. Several HUGE artists have covered his songs, such as Keith Urban, Sara Evans, Dierks Bentley, Dixie Chicks, and Jack Ingram. He's one of the most amazing songwriters I know. And he's just the coolest guy!

LOL!!! He was drinking tea in Rockford, too. I saw the little string hanging over the side of the cup and the steam rising up. So if you're pathetic, I am, too! LOL. :)
