So after last week's big move-in crisis, I was afraid to even come to work today, but I figured if I come in with that attitude, I'm only hurting myself. So I told myself it was going to be a great, easy day! Well rent is due tomorrow and we're not open, so of course it's been a pretty steady stream of customers coming in to pay rent. Then I had one guy who wanted to set up automatic payments...it appeared to work, so off he went. Then I was looking back at his account and I don't think it did. Ugh! Then someone came in and wanted to move in! I was so tempted to say we're full! Hehe. But I figured I'd give it a shot. Everything went well...things that didn't work last time were working this time, then I went to print the lease and the printer made a noise, I nearly jumped outta my seat with excitement hehe....but then I went over to the printer to get it.....18 pages of errors!!!!! UGH!!!! So I tweaked a few things on the computer and printed again....18 more pages of errors!!!! OY!!!!! Then a lady called and asked if our rent is prorated...I told her yes, then found out its prorated on move-in only....not move-out....guess which one she wants to do....UGH!!! This job is stressful!!!! :p But at least I'm ok with that and I'm not on the verge of tears like last time! But I am hungry! Been trying to order lunch, but people keep interrupting me!!! :p

Ok my mom rocks! Not two minutes after I typed that post, she and my sis-in-law walk in....I thought "Is it four already???" But she came by to bring me homemade chocolate chip cookies and a Sprite! :D

Moms make everything better! :)

Oh my gosh, I just checked my horoscope for today....

Capricorn: Don't get grouchy with a customer service person today. Even if it sucks, it's not their fault!

Hehehehehehe take that customers!!!! :p

This has been one entertaining day! That's for sure!!!! Only 2 hours left! :)

Hmm, im assuming that if you're on the J boards you're a christian, and as such im suprised you read/pay attention to horoscopes.

Its something I personally think to be a bad thing, and not something that christians should read and look at. False prophecy and it can lead to idolatry.

On a happier note, the world is always a much better place with sprite and cookies!

And mums do rock!

Here is a word for you for your next work day. :)

Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

And I agree, too. Moms are awesome!

Working with the public is hard. I always say i would be the perfect Christian if it weren't for other people!! I am a retail sales manager for a wireless carrier and if it were not for the grace of God I would really lose it. But everyday I have to remind myself that Jesus doesn't love me any more than each person that is sitting in front of me (no matter how angry, obnoxious and foul they are)which gives me the patience to hear them out and try to be a blessing to them. And not only do I have to deal with the angry customers but also have to referee the employees who have problems with one another. arrghh...why can't everyone just get along!!

I feel for everyone here. I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO happy that I no longer have to deal with customers, because I have, on more than one occasion, been THAT customer. I had to call my ISP earlier this week for a very simple problem. Well, sort of- it was an outage. To make a long story short (HAH!), I only raised my voice once, and only a bit.

Customers are the struggle. I work the customer service desk at an office supply store. People treat me like I'm an idiot just because I work retail. I'm 19, so it's not like my job opportunities are endless at this point. I really don't get paid well enough to put up with the way that probably 75% of the customers treat me. This job really tests my patience. I must say that working this job for months has made me a much better customer. I'm a lot more understanding with retail employees, especially when they're cashiers. Retail is not fun, in my opinion. More motivation to work hard to get a good job out of college, I guess.

To E: Trust me, I don't believe in horoscopes for a second...my friends and I just like to have fun reading them.

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one struggling here! But I mean it's one thing when you're doing everything right and you have people harping on you, but it's rough when what you're doing is coming off wrong, and people get even more upset over that. I mean I understand because I've been on the other side of it where I had to deal with a brand new employee that had trouble getting things running, so I totally know where they're coming from. And I haven't had anyone be too mean to me...I had one guy huffing and puffing a little but his wife was a total sweetheart so that helped me stay calm! :) And I'm happy to say that the lady who I mistakenly told rent was prorated was VERY understanding when she came in and I told her she had to pay double what she was expecting :( Nice customers...good! Mean customers...bad!!! Hehehe

I have customers which I not only never see, but never have any conversation with. In actuality, all I have to go on is what other people give me, so we do not even have the luxury of asking a customer if they want to do something one way or the right way- we generally are bound by their instructions (unless, of course, the finished product violates postal regulations.)

even i hear you on that one... some customers are just jerks... and make me cry. and they seem to think if one little thing goes wrong it's all your fault personally and rawr. mannn

sad thing is i'm pretty sure i have the easiest job on the face of the planet...i work at a pizza place... but people complain too much and one guy threatened to get me fired cause his pizza didn't get there within half an hour and it wasn't my fault at all i was like omg jerkkk!!!!!!! lol

I must say that the things that have annoyed me to no end in the last couple of weeks are the customers that want to price match everything and the people that don't open their eyes. If Walmart is cheaper, then go to Walmart! It's that simple! Why must you make me waste 30 minutes of time sitting on the phone with customer service at another store just to find out how much something costs there? And there are HUGE banners hanging all over the store that tell you where things are. Try opening your eyes and looking for a second before coming up to ask me to show you where everything is. You guys would be amazed by how stupid some of the questions I get are. I'll be standing by a register and there is a wall of paper behind me and displays of the cases of paper next to me, and people will ask me if we sell paper in the store. Or I'll be working the service desk which is right across from the ink and toner, yet people will come up and ask where the ink is. I, of course, can't say "Open your eyes, genius!" even though I really want to. I am WAY too sarcastic to be doing customer service. haha

yeah people that eat where i work can sometimes be not that smart too or just don't open their eyes so i totally hear you there too...

haha someone actually asked us if we had pizza sauce... it's like duhh this is a pizza place obviously we're going to.....

:)

i do get entertained by the ones who are just extremely slow with things like that though, no matter how much they anger me, not gonna lie... haha

If you like the nonword "tediousity," you'll love the nonword "moronickleness."

Even though you don't believe in horoscopes you are still dabbling with
the occult by reading them. Satan loves that.

Don't worry guys....the horoscopes are gone.....

I've been praying a lot about it lately, and there was a piece of the puzzle missing. I finally got in touch with my Cru speaker from college who is a pastor at a local church. He shed a whole new light on the subject and filled in that "missing puzzle piece" for me.
