Hey, If you could please pray for my neighbor and her family. Along with the other teens' families. Down below is a local newspaper clipping. My neighbor's nephew was the front passenger.
A Lafayette man was arrested and jailed today after the car he was driving crashed killing the car's two passengers, according to police.
Christopher L. Weaver, 19 of Lafayette, was arrested on suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, said Lafayette Police Department Lt. Jim Taul.
Weaver was being held today on $10,000 surety bond, according to the Tippecanoe County Jail.
The crash happened in the 400 block of Wabash Avenue at about 6:20 a.m. today, Taul said.
Weaver was driving the vehicle at a high rate of speed, Taul said, northbound on Wabash Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle and hit a guardrail.
"The guardrail went through the vehicle, impaled the right side passenger and back seat right side passenger," Taul said.
Both passengers died, Taul said.
The identities of the two people who died, Taul said, were not being released because the families needed to be notified.
