View Full Version : When You Hear a Siren

When I was teaching at the Christian school where Jesse and Lisa attended, I would stop my class no matter what we were doing each time we heard a siren, and pray for what ever the situation was. Dan and I do that with Ben now, too. Just think what a difference that could make in our world if we would all do that.

It didn't take long for it to become a habit, and to this day we still stop and pray without having to even think about it.

Would any of you join us?

I do that too. Sometimes I am behind emergency vehicles following them to an accident to take pictures and I'm praying the whole way there and back.

Probably. Or you could always do daycare with me! :)

I wish there were more praying reporters. It's a blessing to know you're out there!

I do that too. A few years back my old pastor mentioned that to the church and ever since then I try my best to say a prayer for those involved.

since were kinda on the subject, what do you do when you see a funeral procession?

without fail, i stop, turn off my radio, lower my head and pray.
i dont know if its something i saw when i was little, but its just what i have always done.

what about you guys?

I do the same.

Sad story....my papa passed away two years ago (almost to the date - June 10)....we were driving to the funeral...my brother was driving....some lady tried to cut us off....then she proceeded to flip us the double "bird" and she was yelling something at us but our windows were up...probably a good thing. That was just so upsetting! I kept wondering if she realized she'd just cut off a funeral procession....and if it even phased her if she did realize it.

I always pull over and pray, too. Usually I cry just knowing that there are people hurting right now, right there.

It's awesome to know that so many of you/us pray for these things. I'm sure many others do, and hopefully those who don't will start, when they think of it. Prayer makes a difference!
