Hello All!

My name is Brian Alexander. I'm a sophmore in college. My major is Broadcast Media. I enjoy anything involving media, and music. I run church presentation software at churches, as well as know audio and video editing. I really hope that this community grows just as nicely as the old jc boards did. I hope to meet a lot of new people, but right now i'm the only person here..so lets introduce ourselves and let the fun begin! :)

Hey, I'm Mandy!

I'm a freshman at Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
About two years ago, I was saved and within a few months fell in love with Christian music. Jeremy was one of my favorite artists, and I decided to go to one of his concerts (Rock the Boat, June 11, 2007). My PE instructor was also a huge fan, and we got talking when I had to sit out for the last month of school due to an injured finger. I found out he was also a big fan, and had VIP tickets to that concert.
Needless to say, I got to see Jeremy in the pit, and later meet him backstage. I asked him a hard question about how he could possibly have made it through losing his wife, and he answered with as much enthusiasm as I had about receiving the answer.Though his music is phenomenal, there's no describing the true love for Jesus you can almost feel when in his presence. I also saw him perform at Fishfest recently, and was just as blown away. He's truly an inspiration to me, and his music can always keep my mind with God.
Anyways, an avid reader of the blog, I decided to join the forum.

I am currently trying to find a teaching job. But right now I'm subbing and I work at an after-school program on Tuesdays and Thursdays. And then on Saturdays I manage a storage facility. So I keep very busy! I come from a VERY musical family and play a little guitar myself. Another huge passion of mine is photography. Well, on the old boards I'm "LovinHim". On here I registered as "JesusFirst", but after 48 hours still haven't rec'd the email confirmation to activate my account, so I used a different email addy and started over. So now I'm simply LauraA.

My hubby is Dan. He's full of faith and determination to do all he can for the Lord. A pure sweetheart! He'll be registered here when his email confirmation comes through. (Or I'll set him up with a yahoo acct. and he'll re-register). I do home daycare and have for 26 of the last 34 years. We have a 33 year old son, a 32 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. We also have 4 grandchildren who are 12, 10, 8 and 7. Our youngest grandson is 5 months older than our 7 year old. Today I turned 50! Scary.

I home-school our 7year old and we're having a blast doing it. He's worked ahead a year, so I feel like it's going really well. It's awesome to see his bright blue eyes light up when he learns a new concept. It's so rewarding.

The Lord saved me 23 years ago. I'll get my testimony in the appropriate thread soon. It's long, but I can't leave much out or you might not get the full picture.

Hobbies are rubber-stamping, camping, Jeremy's music, pets. We have a golden retriever and 4 gerbils, with one more joining us this weekend.

And yeah, I'm a Jeremy vet, too. Labby, Kelly, Cara and all of you...I'm happy to see you all over here and joining in the fun. We can handle two boards, yes? :)

My name is Amanda. I was April0Neil on the old board and registered here a few weeks ago. I never got a confirmation e-mail, so I tried to change to my yahoo e-mail address..never got the confirmation. Read about needing to start over so finally tried that tonight. So, I'm finally here and able to post!

I went to my first Jeremy Camp concert in summer 04 and joined the message board the week after! I've been a big Jeremy Camp fan since then. I'm 25, a reporter for a newspaper, a youth leader for both the middle school and high school age at my church, and am teaching Sunday School for the summer.


Anyway, I was a very active poster on the old board (15,000 posts after almost four years) so you will see me around more now that I got the registration problem fixed. ;)

ok so here is the skinny on nate....i'm 33 and live in mt. carmel, il (yes there is more to illinois than chicago, lol). I'm small town. i am an alumnus of southern illinois university (henseforth salukinate). my wife and I are members of First Baptist Church where I teach 3rd and 4th graders at AWANA once a week and am one of 8 leaders of children's church on Sunday. I believe the younger youth are where I was call to minister. I am an avid sports enthusiast (football being my fav.) I really dig jeremy's stuff but have not been to one of his concerts (yeah I know....) but back in 04 I did see him perform 1 set at Promisekeepers in Indianapolis, IN. I am hoping to catch a concert this year however. I just don't want to travel too far to do so (you know how gas prices are these days). Things down south are awesome!!! Summer heat is here, and everyone is miserable, but I'm lovin it!!!! :p That's so cool that you're working with kids. I'm wanting to be a teacher myself but can't seem to land the job anywhere here. But right now I'm subbing for the local school district and I volunteer with an after-school faith-based program for at-risk students. It's been amazing!!! Of course, I'm off subbing for summer, and that also means no afterschool program, but we are doing summer activities, so I'm keeping busy with that.

Life handed me more than I ever thought I could handle this past year and until now haven't been able to get much time for anything other than trips to Children's Hospital and the kids school work and activities. Personally I'm for throwing the book at any sports figure that runs afoul of the law. after all, I think most of them have degrees, so they know something, and when they run afoul of the law, their behavior is despicable. Does anyone want that Vickguy from the Atlanta Falcons whose brother was just arrested on a DUI charge as a role model?

you know i really hate to be the devils advocate, but, why are there two? we dont need two. just one or the other. it is way too complicated trying to keep up with two.
especially when one isn't easy to get to. if there hadn't been a post with the old website address in the sisters thread, i wouldn't have been able to find it.

another thing is the privacy this board doesn't afford us that the old one did. we dont have segregated forums which mean we will never be as close as the old board.
maybe im just weird to change but im just not really fond of this.

Yup, it looks like they are down. I'm thinking Christian may be over there doing the improvements he has planned.

There are two boards because one is Jeremy's official site, which is now this one. Christian, out of the goodness of his heart, is keeping the Old Boards alive even though it takes a lot of time. He's volunteering it for us. (Drop him a thank you when you think of it.)

Hopefully, the administrator here will separate the male/female areas soon, and give the mods their buttons so things can be taken care of. I'm sure there is a lot to think about when putting something like this together. It'll all work out.

Two boards are really hard for me to keep up with, too. I try to post on both, but don't always do it. But I read both for sure.

If anyone notices that the OBs are back up, please let us know.

I wish we'd just have one board. I don't really care which one stays and which one goes. I've been a member of the old boards for almost 5 years, but I'm not attached to those boards. I mean, it's the people that make the message board, so as long as everyone knew where to go, it'd be fine. We talk about the memories, but how often does everyone go back and read all the posts from 2004 and 2005? The memories still exist even if the physical evidence doesn't. Just my thoughts...

But I guess the point is moot if C: has the intention to keep the old boards going. I respect him for keeping them going when he has to do it in his spare time on top of the other things he has going on.

When I find funny jokes or posts, I share them with him but other than that, he's pretty quiet. We have 3 kids. Jesse is 34, and is daddy to two of our grandkids. I've really enjoyed the forum so far, though I've been super busy the last week or so and missed out on quite a bit, but I've subscribed to a lot so I think I can get caught up. We did go to Unite and Conquer yesterday and this 39 year old "way too old" Mom jumped and screamed with the rest of the kids though.
