I'm really loving this book I'm reading - God's Power to Change Your Life by Rick Warren!
One chapter I read tonight talked about finding peace in the midst of your stressful life. Here's an excerpt that reminds me of a recent blog from Jeremy:
When was the last time you just sat still and focused on the Lord? Try it right now. Take a deep breath, let it out, and focus on God's presence surrounding you. Do that fifty to sixty times a day, whenever you feel tension building. Take mini-vacations in your mind. Be still. Hurry is the death of prayer. In addition to telling us to be still, the Lord reminds us, "Know that I am God." Did you know that right in the middle of a hurricane or tornado is a quiet center called an eye? Likewise, even though everything is blowing apart around you, there can be a quiet center in your life. Be still and know. Obey God's principles, accept God's pardon, focus on God's presence, "and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" - Phil 4:7
I definitely recommend this book!!!
