I just got a pm from a member here saying that she/he couldn't post. If you are having the same problem make sure you check your email for a email from the site saying to activate your account. Click the link in the email and then you login and you should be able to post from now on.
Check your spam folders on your email accounts as well. The email could be in there.

I have been getting email after email from people who are not able to register on the boards. They have waited 24 hours or longer and have not yet received a confirmation email. They all checked their junk mail even, and nothing. What should they do????

I am getting some pm's and even a few instant messages on aim. Same thing. People aren't getting the activation email.

Well, I registered the first morning we could, and I still haven't rec'd an email confirmation. I went and re-registered using another email account, and it went through right away. So I may be registered twice, but I didn't know what else to do. So, finally, I can post. If others are having the same issue, maybe they could make an email account with yahoo, which is what I did, then change their email addy here once they are registered to their original email address. (If it will let us do that since our original addy may be considered already in use here...don't know). Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon because I know of several people who can't post due to the missing email confirmation. (Not being found in spam folders, either).

Thanks for doing this for us, Kelly. You're a dear. :)

If you are having registration problems, here is what I did. I activated a new email account with yahoo, and re-registered using a new username. For some reason emails aren't coming through to certain people/email addresses, but it came right through to the yahoo addy.

But that is going to create a lot of usernames that won't be used. There are about 80 something members and like half of them their accounts work.

I did the same thing as laura, just so you know Gmail accounts will work too.

So I thought we had come to the conclusion that yahoo emails work. I just got a pm from a guy saying that his didn't work.

Wow...wonder what is going on. Well, it's new and things need to be worked out. I'm sure it will all come together. It's just hard for those waiting to post.

It's also hard for people like myself to explain the problem that is going on to people that pm me. Basically I tell them to check their spam folder and to be patient.

I had no problems- my confirmation email was nearly instantaneous.
Then again, us ADD types ARE special!:)

I need some admin help...
The clock on the board says 3:31 pm. but my time is 10:10pm. What do I need it set at to correct it?

The time zones are off as well. I just kept changing mine until the time at the bottom of the board options page was the same as mine.

When I'm not logged in its an hour behind, and when I log in its 6 1/2 hours behind.....odd.

There are still a lot of people who haven't rec'd email confirmation so they can activate their accounts. Is there anything we can do to help them with this?

When in doubt, I love Tim "the Toolman" Taylor's advice-

I'm thinking that the boards are teething- everything is there, it just doesn't all work. I had my avi all set up, and then it was gone. Even the question marks are gone. It's all good though- I have learned a bit of patience ....

Yeah, I'm thinking you know something about patience.
After all, you're not an ex-member.

Speaking of music.... where on J's site are the cd's listed?

I don't think they are actually...I noticed that when I first saw the new site. I thought, "Where is the discography, the bio, the podcasts, the tour blog".....it was a LOT to take in! :p I'm sure that will all be on the new site though :)
And thankfully they brought back the podcast page very quickly :)

Another question....
I've noticed that if I don't post for a while I get logged out. Is there a way to stay logged in longer?

I'm getting pms and emails daily from people who are trying to register and aren't getting their email confirmations. Is anyone working on this? No one is getting responses so we don't know if you are aware of the problem. Please respond so we know what to tell people.
When I registered, I didn't get confirmation either. After waiting for 2 days, I went to yahoo and created a new email account and then re-registered. I then rec'd the email confirmation right away. I've suggested that to some, and it's worked for a few, but not for others.
People are getting frustrated and need to know if there is a solution or if it's being looked into.
Please help.
Thank You,
Laura
Hello Laura,
I just registered today. It seems the forum isn't asking for an e-mail confirmation. I just answered some questions thrice and those were silly questions. But here I am, happy posting. :)

Oh good. Maybe they won't be using it since there have been so many problems with it. Thanks so much for letting me know.
God Bless You,

So it seems like people can register and post fine now. This should clear up some of the questions in my pm inbox.

I still know a few people who can't register. I think they have to use a different username and email address, from what I've heard. (If they've already tried to sign up.) Well, hopefully everyone who wants to can sign up soon.... :)
