Everything happen very sudden. My boss had a lump removed from under her arm and the test came back as metastasized cancer cells. So now she will patiently await a MRI to determine the actual location of the cancer. As of right now she is looking at 16 weeks of chemo, but the MRI is going to determine what's next. Please pray for her and her family she has two sons(12 & 18) and a husband who is the doctor I work with. Her name is Lori Cahill. She requested me to ask for prayer for her to as many as possible. Thank you. Please pray and pass this on to as many as possible.
Blessings ~leigh

I'll be praying for Lori. It's shocking. I feel like I kind of know her through you. Tell her I'm praying and give her a hug for me, ok?

Thank you for all the prayers she so appreciates them.
She has surgery tomorrow. It was hard for her today she came to me with tear filled eyes and hugged me and said "Keep him going, Leigh"(she was talking about her husband, the doctor I work for). I said I would and that God would see her through this.
I'm really feeling like stressed here because of the other job that I understand wants me, but I haven't got the call yet. I'm going to feel like a real jerk if they call me over the next week to come to work and I have to give my two weeks notice. Even though she hasn't treated me that well in the past at times I don't want to leave them hanging during this time. Putting the task on them to find another nurse w/in two weeks and me train him/her while she is recovering and taking chemo.
Thank you all for continuing to lift her and her family up in prayer!

Leigh, this is possibly why you haven't gotten the call yet. The Lord knew they would need you right now. Your faith and encouragement can make such a huge difference for the doctor and Lori. I'm praying for all of you during this hard time.

Thank you, Laura and all of you! It went well. All i really know is they are awaiting the pathology report to see what's next.
So many bad things have happened lately, and some have benefited me but changed me in how I see life. Our life is like a burning candle wick that can be burn out w/in only a second.
i feel like if i hadn't have been needing more hours at work maybe this wouldn't have happened and she would be cancer free. Now since she is sick she has increased my hours back to what they were and then some(except for this week and next week because of her surgery).

Path report was negative- no cancer found which is positive. She starts chemo 8:00am (EST) tomorrow (7/31). please keep her and her family in prayer. i know God is going to use this time of weakness to strengthen her faith and reach out others. I pray she continues to shine for Christ to see the colors meet daily in her life as the rainbow will prevail.
found out i got the job- human resources lost my paperwork which doesn't surprise me when i was hired at the VA almost ten yrs ago they lost my paperwork then too. it was nice to get the call. :)
Thanks so much!!!!

Good to hear about the new job Leigh. The Lord is in charge of timing and doesn't need to give anyone cancer in order to manage that, don't worry.

Good luck with your new job. I'm glad to hear her tests came back with good results. I will keep her in my prayers and I hope her chemo treatments go well for her.
