My mom needs prayer

My mom is getting ready to put out the first issue of her magazine next week!!! We're sooooo excited! She decided to go for it on her 50th birthday last August and has been working hard all year to make this dream a reality. She's been so ready to get this issue out so she can breathe again, but then she realized that she'd have to get started on the next issue right away to get it out on time. Plus she's going on a work trip the week before the next issue's release so she's panicking just a little! Please just pray for peace! Her boss was gracious enough to give her the rest of this week off to work on it :) So that's helping a little. We're just at that point where it's starting to really sink in and it's kinda throwing her for a loop.

It cracked me up that your mom is the same age as I am! She needs to join us here. :D

That would be awesome but I think she'd flip if I so much as suggested she do anything outside of the magazine right now hehe

It's crunch time now! The magazine has to go to the printer before 9am tomorrow!!! Yikes! And to make matters worse, mom is at work till midnight or later tonight! Poor thing. She's holding up pretty well, so I think she'll be ok. It's funny though....I've been proofing all her ads and articles...she hands them to me one or two at a time. She called me from work today to let me know she left me more to do, I went and checked and there were about 9! Hehehe....so I've been feeling the pressure myself :p Scary to think that if there is a typo on a magazine that she's getting thousands of copies of, it's my fault! Hehe. That's some serious power right there :p

EDIT: The magazine will go to the printer on Wednesday. There's still a bunch of little things to be done and we found a typo on an ad, so we have to get that fixed since we can't do it. Oh and I'm sad to say, she found several things that I missed in my proofing! Yikes!!!! Needless to say, I'm going to be proofing and reproofing ALL DAY tomorrow!!! I REEEEEEEALLY feel the pressure now!!!! :eek:

Well my poor parents stayed up till 8am (after my mom worked 4-midnight!) but they got the magazine sent! :) I'm SOOOOO nervous and I don't know why! Hehehe....but I'm SOOOO excited to see it!!!!! They said it should be delivered in about a week.

I went shopping with grandma this morning and got back home around noon and mom was up at the computer! :eek: Crazy woman! I sent her right back to bed! Hehe....tonight is her's and dad's anniversary so she took the day off work and I would imagine they'll sleep the rest of the afternoon, then go out to dinner and celebrate :)

Your mom is a go-getter! Now we know why you are always "Johnny on the spot", helpful, encouraging, etc. LOL. Congrats to your mom for the magazine, and to both of your parents for their anniversary. God is Good!

Hehe yep....I tell ya...she came home every night this week and went STRAIGHT into her office and started working on the magazine without so much as blinking! I don't know how she does it...but then again, she did raise 5 kids so if you can do that, there's not much you CAN'T do hehe...I'll be sure to pass on your congratulations :)

Can you imagine?! 5 kids. That takes a special woman for sure.

I have a friend who came from a family with...was it 14 or 17 kids. (Can't remember which.) I can't even fathom being one of the kids, let alone the parents who raised all of them.

Yeah my Papa (her dad) was one of 11!!!! I just can't imagine! And my mom was one of 6...so big families run in our....well...family hehe

Guess what....the proof is being delivered tomorrow morning!!! Eek!!!! But that means we have all weekend to find any mistakes we might have and then send it in Monday morning to start printing!

You're not gonna believe this, but on top of having a new niece delivered tomorrow, the magazine is also being delivered!!!! It should arrive around 9am!!!! Eek!!!! So BIG day tomorrow!!!!

Ok I have a HUUUUUUUGE praise for my mom!!!! My dad's been playing in a band with Rick Cavender who owns Cavender Toyota in San Antonio. His entire family in fact is in the car business and they have SEVERAL dealerships. Well Rick called my mom and said he wants to put a Saturn ad in her magazine!!! :D My mom was just beside herself when she got that call!!!

The second issue was just delivered! Yay!!!! It looks SOOOO awesome! And my nephew, Hadyn, made his magazine debut :) I'll get the pics posted ASAP.

Oh and another praise report. She was accepted by HEB and will be putting it in FOUR local HEB stores!!!! :) That's HUGE!!!!

Hey you guys,

My mom needs prayer again! She discovered a huge misprint in most of the 12,000 copies of her magazine...the printer messed up and a lot of the pages are tinted red. Normally, she'd send them back and say "reprint" but she's already put out about 300 in stores around town. Plus it's out 2 weeks late. So she's gonna try and get a huge discount from the printer instead. But either way, you don't want things like that from someone that you're paying to make 12,000 copies of, you know? And she certainly doesn't want to put any of those in the HEB stores. She's just sick to her stomach about it.
