I have been struggling with that so much this week! I got my first full-time job offer since graduating, but it wasn't for the job I wanted, and it couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time. I had so much trouble deciding whether or not to take it. I prayed and prayed, but couldn't hear God. Turns out, I just wasn't listening. I was letting my fears get in the way. But when I read this, I heard him loud and clear....

BE AT REST

“Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.” Psalm 116:7 (NIV)

Take a little time to read and reflect on this Bible study today. Relax and take a few deep breaths…let the tension out of your forehead…okay, now we’re ready to start.

How many things do you worry about each day? Are you stressed out about school, work, how you’re going to pay bills, or even pay for your next meal? Are you worried about a family member, a friend situation, or what college you’re going to attend? You can probably relate to one of those categories so let me ask you this: what good is it doing to worry about it? Most likely, it’s just causing you more grief in the end! Jesus speaks to this issue when He says, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not!” Matthew 6:27 (NLT).

In this verse, God’s telling us to rest in Him; He’s not suggesting it, He’s commanding it. When you worry, you aren’t truly trusting in Gods’ ability to take care of your life. Think of the all the great things God’s done personally for you so far in your life. He hasn’t let you down and He never will! 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about what happens to you” (NLT).

Start to rest in God today. Give those worries over to Him and leave them for Him to take care of. God has got it taken care of. Let your soul rest.
