So one morning in college, my roommate woke up for her 8:00 class like normal....she gets dressed and heads out into the livingroom and lets out a bloodcurdling scream followed by fits of laughter....I jumped outta bed and wheeled out there to see what in the world was going on and saw this.....

Hands down, most memorable moment in college!!!! Needless to say, she missed her 8:00 class and I never went back to sleep after that because we spent the entire morning laughing and just staring at it in disbelief! Unfortunately maintenance came the next morning to mow our grass and removed it :(

Considering "my bad" is an form of saying "I screwed up," and "my bag" is a way of saying "I'm into that", I don't believe the two are related.

I think "my bad" developed as a lazy way of saying "Sorry, I screwed up." If you screw up, you're acknowledging the screw-up by simply saying "my bad".

My recommendation, Kelly? Tough it out and stay awake. Staying up for 30 hours is a heckuva lot easier than staying up late, getting a few hours' sleep, then trying to stay awake all day again. Not that it doesn't suck, but it's easier.

I thought I'd share about the history of this thread. BA! stands for Boardies Annonymous and it was started as a way to joke about our "addiction" to the boards. That first thread lead to many, many, many more and numerous spinoff threads. Those were the days.

I'm a newbie now. It's funny to say that and look at my post call and see so few posts when I had over 15,000 on the old boards.

Yeah...latex....its common for people with spina bifida (which i have) because we have so many surgeries to correct different things (i had 15 by the age of 12)....which means lots of ivs and tubes and gloves. It just kinda develops after a while. i discovered it the hard way too. During my last few surgeries, the arm with the iv in it would swell up the first night...they weren't sure why, but they just redid the iv. Then in high school i worked at a local waterpark and wore latex gloves every day because i worked with food....almost every day i would develop rashes all over my arms and face and some days, i would have to go home because i was having trouble breathing. We kept thinking it was something in the air or i was picking up some bacteria wheeling around in the park, but my doctor finally figured it out when i mentioned that i wore latex gloves. I switched to different gloves and the problems completely went away. I assumed it was just the gloves that were a problem, then one day i was blowing up balloons for my sister's birthday and my mouth and gums puffed up like crazy!

Once i figured it out, everything made perfect sense....the swelling from the iv, the gloves, and the balloons...

So no more balloons for me :( which is hard because i work with kids and kids love balloons! :p And thankfully, latex allergies are so common these days that most doctors don't even use them anymore so i dont have to worry about letting them know every time i go.

Well, these things are really pliable, and they're ORANGE. Very orange, like safety-orange. As I was shooting them at some of my coworkers, I told them that these were kinder, gentler rubberbands: latex free for your protection, and orange so that you see 'em coming!

Remember when one might be shunned if caught posting without backreading...I can only imagine how many pages, no threads, I have missed...

New threads were started about every 100 pages or so because the first posts on the pages would start "sticking" after that. A new thread was started every 3-5 days, in BA's prime anyway. I think I remember one thread lasting only 30 hours or so... This one's been around since like May?! That's unheard of!

Okay. Wow. I've have missed you BAers so much! 4 years!:eek: That's crazy. It seems like just yesterday. We had some good times around here. The table dancing was hilarious. Ah, so many memories.....that's how I racked up all the posts I had on the old board. The weekend parties were my favorite...that's when I had moved here to West Virginia and didn't hardly know anyone. :)

Well, I have been MIA for the last month but I'll try to be more active again (probably never be like I used to but I'm a lot busier now) ...I've gotten settled into my new apartment...having a roommate for the first time since college is a little weird but it's been fun.

Ice storm!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was just starting to rain...then minutes later it started to sound a little harder than rain! So I looked outside and there was an ice storm! Yay!!! :)

We're supposed to get rain mixed w/ snow overnight & possible snow in the morning! Yay! Got some pics of the ice....hope to get more pics especially if it snows! Will post them after it all passes :)
