LauraA

A friend and I are taking 5 of the kids from church to Summerwood on June 15th. Are any of you going? If you can, it would be so much fun to have a CAMPout! We meet for a meal before the concert, get to know each other, worship the Lord together. I'm ordering our tickets tomorrow. Can't wait! Let me know you can go.

I'll have to pass on this one. Too many things needing my money at the moment (I have to upgrade my gear, get a PA, get a tux, save up for a laptop...)
LauraA

Ouch, that's a lot of stuff to have to save for. Maybe you can make it to the mid-west for the Oct. 4th concert in Chicago.

Is there anyone in the IN, MI, IL, IA or other Wisconsinites who might be able to go? Aaron? Jean (don't know if you're here)? Anwald? Jean (Farmgirl), Carrie? Chris? Tony? Everyone?! LOL.
Justin and Erin were going to go, but now they can't. :(

I think we have a CAMPout on our hands!!! Amy, your mom said you guys could most likely go! That would make 9 of us. Hoping for even more.
Do we pin CAMPouts? Haven't seen anything pinned yet. Cara or Dan?

Is Leigh coming? Is she on this board yet?
LauraA

No, Leigh can't make this one. She signed up a few days ago, but can't get her email confirmation. Bummer!

Srry about the verfication problems. I messaged the admin.
I can't make this one. I think Carrie might be going. She and I were looking at the calander the other day and it didn't look like I was going to make any gigs this summer. OIH!
Is there a rollcall on this CAMPout?
I am looking into this pinning of te thread...but havent yet discovered how.
LauraA
05-18-2008, 08:43 AM
There are only 2 of us from the boards going, well, 3. My grandson is signed up, too, but only posted a few times...over yonder. So it's:
WheelsforJesus
Bumpski
Me
Then these have been to J's concerts with us before:
Billy
Sami
Connie
Newbies:
Tory (WheelsforJesus' mom)
Becca
Joey
Zach (getting a drum lesson from Leif!)
Justin (jedge_46) and Erin can't go now. :(Hoping more of you can go!
Thank you, Cara. No one is getting answered pms and there aren't posts responding to the need for help with the sign up/email confirmation problem. I just hope the people don't say 'forget it' and move on to other boards.
I'm so happy you get a concert this week! It would be HARD to go a for a long time without one. LOL.
Thanks, Cara.

Yes, until she thought about how late it will be when driving back home and she will be doing the driving. I was going to order the tickets yesterday and she said to let her think about it.

Amy, if you get home before midnight, would that be enough sleep? Tell her that it would be so worth it.
I work the next day, too. 6 kids and home school. I wish it were on a Saturday, but Jeremy isn't in our area enough to wait. The last time he was in Madison was in spring of 05. (The first time I saw him). But whatever works for you guys. I would just love to spend that time with you both.
Carrie, if you are on the boards here, would you pm me?
Aaron, is there a chance?

Yeah, if she's thinking about it, I'm sure she's considering all of this. We'll just wait and hope. :) She sounded really excited about it when we emailed.
Do you think he'll sing any of his new songs? Wouldn't that be GREAT?!

Aaron, is there a chance?
Just all depends on a few things..
1. If i can get the money to fix my car
2. If I have the money for gas
Also..What is the concert and when would it get over..cause at that time we are going to be in the middle of Summer Camp at the YMCA Camp that I work...I have to work the next morn. at 7am..
LauraA
05-19-2008, 12:15 PM
It's in Rockford, IL at 7:30. I would guess Jeremy would be on stage an hour or so...? It's a 2 hour drive for us and I work in the morning, too, but it will be worth it. Maybe you could start a change jar to be used for the gas. (Ok, so I'm stuck in the 60s. lol)
I hope it works out for you, Aaron. What happened to your car? Is this from the accident you had a few months ago? Or a mechanical issue. Praying for blessings to land right on that car! :)

Oh, and we were in Rockford on Sunday (see the other CAMPout thread...Psuedo...lol) and it only took us an hour and 10 minutes. (If you take away the 20 minutes I wasted by thinking we missed our turn, then had to find a place to turn around, and go through the toll booths again...TWICE. lol)

One more question Laura,
Do you know the best directions to get there? Or any hotels that are near the venue?
LauraA
06-03-2008, 06:20 PM
Have you ever used mapquest? That's how I'll find my way. If you use that make sure you get directions back, too. I have the worse time trying to read directions backwards. You can also find hotels on mapquest. Just type in your addy and then the venue's addy. Let me know if you need help.

Hi Amy,
Yeah, I'm sure we'll eat before the concert. I have to wait to hear from Leif because we're planning on a drum lesson for Zach. So it will depend on the time for that. We'll want to be in line a couple hours before doors open, too. It will probably be more of a late lunch, and snacks in line. LOL.
Thanks for the links. I'll check those out tomorrow. I'm sooooo happy you guys can go!!!

Any idea if there is going to be an autograph session for this show?
LauraA
06-04-2008, 09:06 AM
No idea if there would be a signing, but if I had to guess I'd say yes.
I want to be in line no later than 4:30. Door open at 6:00 I think, or 6:30. You'll get to go up front regardless. :) I'm not sure, but if Leif does do the drum lesson, we may be in the building earlieir anyway. I'm waiting for him to message me back about it.
:):D:)

I hear he's shorter than he looks. Is he? A friend at work told me last night he met him. Said he is very down to earth. My friend is at least 6 foot and said he (Jeremy) was shorter than him. He seems so tall in pics.

I was just looking at the iTickets site and it says all tickets sold will be held at "will call". Does that mean tickets purchesed as of today up until the concert or a while back?
Its been a few days since checking the site. We are still waiting to get our tickets in the mail, so now I am wondering if they are being sent at all or being held at the "will call" desk.

If you order from itickets now, they will be at will call. I ordered mine several weeks ago, and got them in the mail. They just don't want to take the chance that you don't get them if you buy them so late. However, I think your mom said she talked to the gal at the church and she had two tickets left there in the office and was mailing those out to you. You'll probably get them tomorrow or Monday if you mailed the money out this week.

I think it was Tuesday that I called to get ours and mailed the check to them that Wednesday. Since I called the church and got them that way I will be calling the church if I don't get them in the mail tomorrow or Monday.
What/where is the "will call" at anyway? LOL
I am probably worrying about nothing. I'm just excited to see J for the first time. :P

If you mailed them to the church, I would guess they are mailing them to you. Did they tell you they were? I would just call the church and ask them if they mailed them if you don't get them by Monday afternoon. I'll be calling down there Monday, so if you want me to ask them for you, I can. Just let me know.

LauraA

Glad you got the tickets. No, we won't get in any earlier than anyone else. :(That's one of the reasons we're arriving 5 1/2 :o hours before the show starts, to get in line. Also, for Zach's drum lessons with Leif and to go out to eat. Bring an umbrella.

There should be a Team Camper rule book and that should be in there. lol
I'm not sure what time we will be there, but early enough to get in line.
I hear I-90 is closed. I wonder what the detour is like to get to Rockford.

I think I have directions to the venue that avoids the construction for road closures due to the flooding.
Here is the ones from your town Laura. And don't forget toll money. I see two stops. I think its up to 90 cents.

Thanks Amy. I have them all printed out. And in reverse, too. For the life of me I cannot read directions backwards. We get lost EVERY TIME. lol. So now I print them off for the way home, too. Oh, and toll money. We were down there to meet Chris (madclipper) and his wife, Jennifer a couple weeks ago and it was $1.00 to get through. Plus I messed up and went through it 2 more times...same one. Don't ask! lol!!!! Plus on the way home. Yeah. Toll booths....

Oh good thing you said something. I had 90 cents for two tolls. Is there some 50 cent tolls too? Mom is thinking there is just before getting into Rockford.
Got to round some more coins up and search our music collection for a CD cover for J to sign.

We are going to drive on our own. We will be leaving here at 12:30 after we grab a bite to eat. We should be there by 2:30pm. We may bring a cooler of food too since they said that we can do that instead of grabbing something at the concession.

This is awesome! I think I'm all ready to go...just the wait now. Sure hope we can sleep tonight, you know how it is when you're all excited about something. Yikes. We're heading out right after morning service. OH! I almost forgot some CDs to listen to on the way. That would have been aweful! LOL. I got sleeves for signing, but didn't include any CDs.
We've been gone all day and got home in time for more severe storms. Need to get off the computer AGAIN.
I talked to the office lady down in Summerwood yesterday and she said they have about 1000 tix left, but the amphitheater holds 3000, so that must mean they sold 2000! She said there were people coming from all over the place. This will be AWESOME!!!
I hope to see more CAMPers down there. Anyone else going? There will be 10 in our group.

You crack me up Laura! lol I already put two CD sleeves in our stuff. One for me and one for mom. I'll be pulling the CD's to listen to on the way there soon.
We have our money for anything we can buy there, like a t-shirt or something, plus toll money and then 2 disposable cameras and mom's digital. Think we have enough cameras? lol
All we need to do is pack a few snacks and drinks. I think we are going to run through a Subway when we get in IL and eat when we get there while we wait in line.

What a blessing.
Our group included 10 people: 4 friends, Connie, Ida, Amy and Tory. Amy is "WheelsforJesus". (She and her mom met us in Rockford). Plus 5 of our AWESOME youth, Billy, Zach, Joey, Becca and Sami. We left from church at about 12:00 and had a nice drive down, stopping at "The Largest Culver's in the World" which was located in an unincorporated town. We thought that was pretty unique. Joey loves Culver's and enjoyed collecting souvenirs which included lots of fun things like a ketchup cup, napkin, bag, receipt, pictures and things like that. :D It was hilarious. We arrived in Rockford at 1:45 for the 7:30 concert. LOL. Yeah! It was scheduled to be outside, but a decision was made at noon to have it inside due to the weather report.
Leif gave Zach, (our 15 year old drummer at church), a drum lesson that lasted over an hour. Zach literally beamed for the rest of the evening. He said he'd learned more in that time than he'd learned in the past 3 years. He said that Leif was really cool and entirely encouraging. Thank you, Leif. That will be a very special memory for Zach. (For those of you who don't know, Leif gives drum lessons by the hour, so you can contact him for his rates and such.)
Like I said, we arrived at 1:45 and the concert started at 7:30. So we stood around and waited in line for hours, but it was good. We were able to chat with lots of great people. Adam, Jeremy's Merch Guy who has a heart of gold, was so pleasant and welcoming to all of us. Matt walked by and stopped for a couple minutes, telling us they had just played golf. I told him it would have been fun to watch and he said, "You wouldn't of wanted to see it." LOL. I said, "Well, maybe it would of been good for a laugh!" I hope he knows I was kidding. :) We were able to stop and ask John (sound guy) how his wife is doing, who is expecting a little one in October. Jacob came out after sound check with Leif and I asked him to sign a picture of him and his new bride. It was so funny, he said, "Oh cool, where did you get the picture?" He was amazed at it. I told him that "We have our ways." LOL. He said in a funny/spooky voice, "Do I have a birthmark?" It was so spontaneous and mock serious that I CRACKED UP! He told me that she would be there tonight and he'd have her sign under her picture, but we never saw him after the concert. Maybe next time. Debbie, the gal who was in charge of the event was gracious and pleasant, and very accommodating.
Ok, so after the radio stations came on and did their thing for a few minutes, a couple guys from the church sang for 15 minutes or so. They were very good! I wish I could remember their names. One was the youth pastor, I believe. It was very nice.
So, Jeremy came on and read Psalm 33. I can't remember if he read the entire chapter. I know he read most of it, if not all.
Psalm 33
1Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
2Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.
3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
4For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
6By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.
8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.
10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.
11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
13The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
16There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
18Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
The first song was "Give You Glory". He also sang (not in this exact order), No Matter What, Take You Back, Right Here, I Still Believe, Walk By Faith w/ Hallelujah chorus, Speaking Louder Than Before (I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!), Lay Down My Pride, Tonight, and Give Me Jesus.
Jeremy spoke a lot about his vision for reaching out to the lost, more now than ever before. He talked about how important it is to let our light shine in the darkness, and how our words should be backed up by our actions. Amen! He admonished us to stay in the Word and expressed how God's Word is what he is thirsty for. He shared with us how he and Adie sing with the girls, read to them from the Bible and talk about the Lord with them. He said that yesterday when he talked to Adie, she told him that Bella decided that she wants to live for Jesus. He talked to Bella and asked her if she understood who Jesus is and what He did for her. She said she understood it all and she made a decision to follow Jesus. Then Jeremy and Bella prayed together over the phone. What a Father's Day gift! Pray that little Bella will continue to grow in the Lord and totally grasp and live out the Truth of His Word. Praise God.
Jeremy signed after the worship service. (I have such a hard time calling it a concert because we don't sit and watch. We worship our God with Jeremy leading in song.) I have pictures I'll be putting on here, so I'll write more about the signing with the pictures. Carrie and her family were there, too, which was another great treat. We also saw them in Chicago in February.
After the signing, we made another quick stop at the merch table. They have so many new and fun t-shirts, zip up hoodies, writst bands and tons of other things. Adam is doing a fabulous job! We were all very impressed with what they offered!
It was a beautiful day and evening of fellowship with my brothers and sisters, awesome worship, lots of fun! I was truly blessed, as were hundreds of others.
I'll try to get the pictures up soon.

By the way, Amy, we didn't see you guys leave so we couldn't say good-bye to you. I hope you had a great time and enjoyed the concert. I know that people were invited up to stand in front, and I felt bad that your view was blocked.
Did you enjoy meeting Jeremy? Email me all your pictures, ok? :D I'll send you mine, too. Between the 10 of us, we probably have hundreds!

We only got about 5 pics with the digital. The others I got (about 15 pis) were on the disposable I took. I may get a CD of those so I can put them on my PC.
Couldn't see a thing so I moved to the way back and got to see the remainder of the show from a distance. It was awesome meeting J though.

I'm so sorry that happened, Amy. Was your mom tired at the end? I wanted her to meet J, too. Did she like him?
Oh, I also got to meet Sadie from Adam's blogs. (Sadie, are you on here?) It was so cool to see so many people we knew because of Jeremy's ministry.
I forgot to mention that Jeremy sounded really, really great. I think I detected a little bit of the throat issue he's had. It didn't affect the quality of his singing at all. Also, I asked how his wrist is (carpal tunnel) and he said it was gone after a couple weeks. I showed him the scar I have from having the surgery for it. So glad he doesn't have to go through that! Praise God!!
Kelly was with us in picture. More on that later. :D

Yes mom was tired at the end, but I think she thought the concert was good. Just unhappy with the disorganization of the event and me not being able to see. Didn't really help being there hours before to get a good spot.

Amy, so sorry to hear about that! One of these days you're gonna go to a show and they're gonna let you be right up in the front row though :) Just wait! It's funny, my first J show was in a huge arena and I was up in the nosebleeds...but I got to meet him that night, so I had the best seat in the house! *wink* Then my second show, I was in FRONT of the front row with security and photographers....but no M&G. Funny how that works :p But so glad you got to meet him and had a good time regardless!
And Laura....POST THE PICTURES ALREADY!!!!! Hehehehe I'm dying over here!!!!! :p
I know, I know.....patience Kelly! Patience! :p

Maybe I should have told them try and stop me, and then run them over and rush to the stage. lol Really though, I don't think I would have done that. If I had, I probably would have found my fanny out the church door. But so tempting. lol

These are the only pictures I got on the actual concert. I had taken these, then gave Billy my camera to take pictures. Jeremy said we could come and stand up in front (I didn't hear him say it) and the girls grabbed my hand and pulled me up there. I couldn't get back to my seat to change the batteries without losing that spot for the rest of the night. The others will have more pictures...I hope.

Yeah, wasn't it awesome! The Lord moved on those kids! I was right up front, so I couldn't see too much, but those few I could see were really giving their all to Jesus. It made me cry for joy. There was a boy right next to me filled with the Spirit. It was so moving.

That sounds awesome! :) It was weird...last weekend when we had the altar call during SDS's set, it was so powerful, I could actually feel so many people worshipping, but my eyes were closed and my head was down. Joseph kept saying "We're waiting for several people to come down from the stands....take your time, we'll wait for all of you" And I had this awesome image of hundreds of people coming forward to the altar! So cool!

No hard feelings....it happens....
I had a M&G with Rascal Flatts back in 03 and I was given the important task to deliver a letter that updated them on a fan they knew about who was terminally ill....pretty important right??? I rehearsed everything that I was going to say, but then I got up to the guys and it all left my mind! I just went through the motions, then left and realized I still had the letter! I actually begged and pleaded with security to let me go back and give it to them, but they wouldn't let me, and I wasn't about to hand it to some stranger, so I had to mail it to someone else to give at the next show. I felt terrible!!!! But those things are SOOO short, it's hard to think that quickly!

I got my pics developed today from the concert that I took with my disposable camera. Very disappointed! May be changing my mind. lol If it is general admission as it seems it might be I may go now. I just have to make a call to the office to get some answers and then may get my tickets. I see that when ordering tickets that there is an option to print them instead of waiting for them in the mail. If we go I will be using that option. Too close to the date that I don't want to take the chance at not getting them in time.
