Special Project

I posted this in an anouncement but havent got much of a response so I thought I would add it in a thread too.

Hey all,
Laura and I were talking and desided we wanted to do a project to encourage the band and crew's wives, so If you have and encouraging stories, verses, or sayings that you would like to share with these very special ladies please PM or email them to me.

This will be a fun project. We can also write words of appreciation to them. Some ideas:

Inspirational quotes
Personal notes
Scriptures
Stories
Ways their husband's obedience to God's call has influenced your walk with the Lord

etc.

PM Cara and we'll let you know more about the project as we go. Can't say too much here because we want it to be surprise.

I will need your words of encouragement, appreciation, quotes, Scriptures, etc by September 4th at the latest. It's the only day I have to make the "special projects" before Oct. 4th. Please send them to Cara or me soon and we'll have some very nice gifts to give the women who stay home watching over the fort while their husbands are on the roads ministering to the people. Come on, let's bless these lovely ladies with uplifting words of appreciation. :)

Thank you, Leigh. Actually, we've only had two people respond, so if we don't get a few more, it wouldn't really be worth the work involved to make the project. Each one of them will take me several hours and I will only have next Saturday to do them. I would be printing off the messages on Friday. If we don't get enough, I will hold on to what we have and hopefully be able to get more response and another day to make them before the next concert, whenever that will be. (Can't wait to see next year's schedule!)

We've received several more notes of appreciation and encouragement. Thank you all, who have contributed. If you'd like to send anything else, feel free to. I won't be making it to the Oct. 4th concert, so I'll work on these and have them ready for the next concert I can get to. Hopefully there will be a SLTB Tour and dates will be posted soon.

Please remember to keep the notes short because there will only be room for a little bit on each page. For those who have sent letters, I will take out a portion of them to include in the project. However, I will print off your letters in their entirety and have them in envelopes for the wives.

yea when I first started I got to see at about a show almost once a month.

I was talking to someone back in July and I said "Yeah it's been FOREVER since I've seen J" Shortly after that, I realized it'd only been a month! Hehe...shows just how addicting his "concerts" can be!

I'll be working on the project a lot tomorrow and all day Saturday, after church on Sunday. If you would, please pray that I get them finished and they turn out. I'll take pictures of them when they are finished and post them sometime after Oct. 20th or so. :)

Ok everyone the special project has been carried out and it is amazing how God has carried this plan out through completion. This first started as a seed God had planted in my heart that burst out of conversation Laura and I had and with all your love and help and Laura's creative work God was able to create these wonderful gifts for the wives of those in the band.

Here is the best part both Laura and I were then invited to a Womens Fellowship Night were Adie was teaching so we could give her the gifts in person and together. Isn't God so cool! Laura and I have never met and I was excited to meet her for this first time and worship with her in this wonderful body of believers. Thank you so much for Rhonda who invited us to share in this amazing night of fellowship.

It was an awesome time! You are exactly right, Cara. God brought all this together in a most amazing way. The timing was perfect and only He could have orchestrated all of it. I'm still in awe.

Cara gave Adie the gift with some sweet words of encouragement. (Thank you, Cara, for being the speaker for us, as well as coming up with amazing idea in the first place.) Adie was very sweet and gracious. You could see that it touched her heart and the gift from ALL of the boardies meant a lot to her. I hope it does the same for the other wives.

I do have pictures, but I have piles of laundry to get done today and won't get time to get them on the computer. I will do that in the next few days. Now...how do I do this? Some of the things sent to me were "letters". I don't want to put them her for all to see unless the people who wrote them agree to it. So, if you contributed and want me to put a picture up of the page I did with your words on it, let me know. If you'd like the picture only emailed for you to see, please pm or email me with your email address, if I don't have it.

The project ended up being a small book for each wife. The one I did for Adie took over 17 hours to do, so I couldn't do the others in the same way. The pictures I took were of the pages I did for Adie. The others were simplified a bit, so they took "only" a few hours each. Thank you to everyone who contributed or prayed for this project!

Rhonda, thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to the event on Saturday night. You were very much used by the Lord to bless me in a way I can't even express. Thank you, thank you, thank you! (((HUGS!))) It was fun meeting you and I know we connected in a special way. Another gift from the Lord! You are such a sweetheart!

And Cara, you are a firecracker! LOL!!! I had a blast with you. What a blessing. Thank you for being so outgoing and fun. Can't wait for next time. CAMPout?! :)

On top of all that, I was able to meet Aaron, his friend Mandy and her two munchkins on Sunday morning. What a honor that was! Aaron is as thoughtful and considerate in real life as he is on the boards here. A man of God!

I'm overwhelmed with all the Lord is doing and has done through this project, through Jeremy's message boards and ministry.

Laura your welcome to post anything with mine in it. I am still in awe of the wonderfully beautiful things you make Laura. Just another note...Laura said she was overwhelmed with all the Lord has done through this project...this is ten fold to me. What was at first to be a service turned out to be a blessing. It's hard to describe the blessing that being in that fellowship of women sat night had with a awesome group of women. Many of whom I had never met but I was greeted with hugs and left with hugs and felt Gods spirit in a very powerful way.

Here is the basket with the 5 books in it (For Adie, Katie, Meredith, Ashley and Candy). I wanted to make one for Charee, Matt's wife, but I totally ran out of time. Since she's not really one of the "band" wives, I don't feel like she was really left out, but still...I kind of feel bad. Maybe one day I can do one for her and get it to them.

I didn't like the way the basket looked like this, so I bought an autumn dish towel and lined the bottom with it. It draped out over the sides and looked much better. I didn't get a picture with the towel in it.

I'd made her a nice tag, then lost it in my piles of paper, ribbon, tapes, etc. I made her a new one and hand wrote it because one of my daycare babies were sleeping in the room with the printer in it. Well, the hand written tag bugged me so much since it was different from the others that I made a new one right before we left for IN on Saturday. So this tag isn't the one that is on her book. (lol...like it really matters. :rolleyes:)

I really think God sent an angel down from heaven when Laura came into my life as well as the life of this board and continues to minister on the old boards. I love to see God work through this ministry and the people here! It sounds like you all had a very blessed time. Laura- those books are beautiful! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of that. Amy, last weekend Dan, Ben and I went down to IN for 2 days. We met Cara, Rhonda and Aaron (from the boards), and tons of other awesome people. I'm going to try to get time (today) to write about it in "Walk By Faith", I think. Cara and Rhonda, feel free to join in.
