Hey guys and gals, I thought we could use a place to post all our M&G stories....I'll start.....
I met J for the first time at my first J concert! Too cool! :) I had volunteered to pass out flyers at the concert so I was given a M&G for that, then I won the Team Camper BBM contest, and won tickets and a M&G for that too....
The time before the concert was just short of disaster, but if I go into details, this will be a REEEEEEALLY long post and most of you read my review on the old boards anways....so I'll just leave it at "nothing seemed to be going right"....but we finally got our tickets and M&G passes and headed in. We met up for the M&G and the guy told me "We're all gonna head down the stairs....you two go in this door to the elevator and a lady will meet you and escort you down." So we go in the building and wait....and wait....and wait....I was panicking!!!! I was so sure I was going to miss the M&G! But finally this woman comes running into the building and leads us down to the M&G....I met Toby first and it was actually a surprise that we were meeting him....we thought it was just J....so I was at a loss for words and don't even remember what I said hehe....I wish I had at LEAST told him that DCTalk was my first Christian concert...but did I? Noooooo! But I got my picture with him, then moved on to J...but there were a few people around him, so I just sat there waiting. Meanwhile I look over and there's another guy in a wheelchair. He started telling me all these stories about what had happened and what it was like being in a wheelchair....as we're talking, J comes over to me and I gave him the paper to sign (it's a gift for my brother for their wedding anniversary - they played Walk By Faith at their wedding and my sister-in-law is a HUGE Jeremy fan! She was definitely good for my brother in my books :p) So I told him the story about how they played it at their wedding and he was like "No way! That's so cool!" So then he bent down and we posed for our picture and the guy in the wheelchair made some other comment about how he's glad he doesn't have to be in there much longer to which I replied "I'm a lifer!" And that cracked him and J both up! So after my picture with J, my friend said we both needed a pic with Toby, so I got another pic with him :) And with that, it was over....
And by the way....the "random guy" in the wheelchair just happened to be John!!! (Jeremy's tour manager!) If I had only known! Hehe

The pink shirt story is a good one. And here's one of my stories:
It was my second concert. I talked my youth pastor into taking our youth group. Anyway, the set-up of the gig was as follows: it was at a water park in Portland, so there was swimming, as well as some inflatable stuff in the gym (where the concert took place). Before the live music started, there was a video feed from Ft. Lauderdale broadcasting Third Day and TobyMac.
While this was going on, we were just kind of hanging out. My friend Becky (who had gone to FCD with me) noticed a guy behind the speaker stacks of the stage. It was J. So she went over to talk with him. Conversation went as follows:
Becky: "Hi..."
Jeremy: "Oh hey, hi! Do you have any gum?"
Becky: "No... but I have some Altoids."
J had just drank some coffee and needed to get it out of his throat. Anyway, Becky got his autograph, then told me where he was. So I went over and talked with him....
Me: "Hi..."
J: "Oh, hey! What's your name? How are you doing?"
Me: "Doing good. My name's Steven. I just wanted to say that I've been a fan since I saw you at Festival Con Dios [the prior fall]."
J: "Oh, thanks, that means a lot."
Me: "And, I was wondering if I could... [I'm holding my copy of Stay]"
J: "Oh, sure." [autographs]
Me: "Good luck tonight."
J: "Thanks."
After the concert, we all stood in the autograph line, and everybody took a picture with him. Except me. Becky mentioned that I'm the one that found out about the concert, and I was the only one who hadn't had my picture taken. J stood up and we took a picture.
My first time meeting J, but not my last. And he's still the same guy.

That is what I really enjoy about him. He's very real and down to earth. Does act like he's higher than anyone. In fact, he's very humble and kind.

I apologize, I didn't mean to "tease!" I just needed time to get the post together.
This is in 2004. There was a great thread on the old old boards... before the Great Crash of '04.
There was a thread that listed "You Know You're a Die Hard Jeremy Camp Fan When..."
Somebody posted, "When you are SO SICK of hearing 'Jeremy Camp is so hot!"
So, me being me, I posted JEREMY CAMP IS SOOOOOOOO HOT!!!
This became a huge joke, and one of the Michigan gals, whom I had never met, and with whom I now hang out with outside of J concerts when I can, said that she was going to make me a shirt. It became a pink shirt. It became a pink froofy shirt. LOL And when we met, she gave me the shirt after the concert because she was quote "scared that I would actually wear it."
Well... the next tour, I wore the pink shirt UNDER another sweatshirt. We are great friends, but opposites. She likes her car HOT. I never use heat, and she freezes in my car. Well I forgot about this, so I sweat my buns off on the way to the concert... a 4+ hour drive. And when I pulled the shirt off to reveal the pink shirt... it was just amazing.
J loved it and put me in a headlock.

This picture is what my friend calls "The Mug Shot." (J just had to pose with it!)

And to reveal even more into J's character, and why those chants are so annoying, is that I've actually been to a few shows where girls scream, "We love you Jeremy!" And he says, "Do you love Jesus?" or something to that effect. It's great!

Hehe yeah I saw those pics on the old board somewhere but it's awesome to hear the story that goes with them :) I've seen MANY live videos on YouTube where that happened....then there was one where a girl shouted "I love you Jeremy!!!" And he goes "Awww I love you too!" Then proceeded to tune his guitar. I was like "Woah! Wait a minute....that's not J!!!" Then he paused and looked up and goes "How much do you love Jesus though?" :) And everyone went nuts screaming :) Very cool!

That pink shirt story is just tops! So, what ever happened to that shirt? Did you give it to Jeremy? We should have a CAMPout sometime where every one of us wears a hot pink shirt!

I just had the greatest idea...you should mail it to one of us who has a show coming up and we can wear it to the show, then mail it to someone else who has a show coming up and they could wear it....it could be the travelling shirt! :) I can see the look on J's face now.....:D

Oh would that be HILARIOUS!!!! Priceless! It would just be a risk in case it would get lost. But maybe a duplicate would work, so the original could be preserved. LOL. but I know I couldn't wear it. It just wouldn't be right, as a married woman. But you single gals...or guys ....ROTF! ...it would be a great joke. Someone would have to be very ready with the camera. Hahahaha.
Kelly, you have the most creative brain!

Ok, here is the story of the first time I met Jeremy. It was in Oshkosh, WI. I was in line at the signing table, and just as I got up to him he rubbed his temples and said, "I have a headache." Before I had time to offer to pray for him, he took his bottle of water and drank, and drank, and drank! I bent down when he was still drinking, got kind of eye level with him and whispered, "Does Adie know you drink like that?!" He cracked up with a full mouthful of water. He has kind of pounding the table, trying to swallow while he was laughing, and finally some of the water sprayed out of his mouth onto the table. I wanted to double over laughing! When he got control of himself, he looked at me and said, "That was good!" It went on from there and I got 5 high-5s, a handshake and a hug. (I'm a grandma...don't you young girls do that. LOL)
Here is a picture of J laughing and the water was still in his mouth:
