Don't know why but this totally wierded me out. I am familiar with the new "thing"/teaching in the charismatic churches in the metro-Atlanta area and Newnan that tells us that just as the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Jesus' robe and got her healing...that we must reach up to the hems of the veils of Heaven and tear it open and pull down those promises of the Kingdom to come. Teachers and speakers further add that she was a Samaritan and a woman and that such boldness was unheard of...that she pulled down the promises of salvation for the gentiles early before Christ had even gone to the cross, seizing somethign already done/palnned in Heaven before it was loosed on earth...before it was time even.
Anyway, that is just backgroudn material to help some know why this was goign on...I was in a Hastings store just looking around just to be able to get out of the room as I have my car repaired and working now. I saw a guy named Kevin who I know to be a pastor from another church here in Newnan. He asked why I was at Hastings and I politely replied that I was just gettign out to escape my room after being vcouped up here most fo the week due to gas/car troubles and was about to give God the praise when he fell into a meditative like state and began moving his arm round and round in a clockwise circle, seeming to be grabbig something in the air and throwing it at me....this motion went on for 5 minutes. Then he stopped, opened his eyes and looked at em smiling and said: Brother, I just reached up to the veils of heaven and pulled down answered prayers for you...do you hear me...I just pulled down prayers that God has answered for you...financial, health , etc, etc...and then he said be blessed brother and walked away. Is it just me or did we skip the "MIDDLE MAN" in that intercessory prayer? and i use the word prayer generously.... because I heard "I" way to many times from this brother..."I reached...I pulled down" etc etc. I didnt knwo God Almighty, the Alpha and the Omega, God the Father, the creator of the universe and everythign in it...has become nothing but a cosmic vending machine since we have the "power and authority" now...I guess that would make God praying to God, talking to God, asking him for what you need and even needing God really obsolete and so passe wouldnt it as we can do it ourselves...:(:(
"When God does not show up and when God is not moving, I thank God I have a gift, and I thank God I move by faith, and I thank God when God's not moving I move God."- (name of popular evangelist withheld)...*shudders*
