Just wondering, does anybody here like bluegrass?
If so, who are your favorite artists?

My favorite of anybody is Alison Krauss + Union Station.
But I like any bluegrass, really. Another favorite is Randy Travis. :)

I love the sound of bluegrass, but I've never pursued it or gotten to know any bands. I just know that if I happen to hear it, I like it. :) I should check out the bands you mentioned on youtube.

Sweet deal. And go to my YouTube page, XxThereIsAGodxX, I have a video entitled "Rocky Top" from a bluegrass jam I went to. Now I often play at the jams, if you were wondering. ;)

I pretty much grew up listening to bluegrass. My dad listened to it a lot (and still does). I don't have any main favorites, but I do looove classic country music...which I guess is similar.

Allison Krauss... I still haven't listened to her album with Robert Plant (of Led Zeppelin fame).

They did a really good job with it. My best friend and I saw them in Nashville this summer. :)

Yeah, I'm a little sore about that. There's supposed to be a Zeppelin reunion tour coming up (with Bonham's son drumming). However, Plant has decided to return to the studio with Allison Krauss, so I'm not sure what the status of the tour is.

Yeah I'm looking forward to some new AKUS stuff, but I don't know when that's going to happen since Plant's returning to the studio with her.
One can only hope! ;)

Ricky Skaggs is great! My best friend is going to the Opry tomorrow night, and the line-up is Rhonda Vincent, Ricky Skaggs, Jo Dee Messina, and Martina McBride. When I went, the only performer I'd even heard of was Randy Kohrs.
