How Deep and How Wide is His Love????!!!!

This illustration appeared in my mind of the ocean and the tides, and the meeting of the ocean and sand. There is some of the beach sand never touched/ or barely touched by the ocean's water edge. Think of the sand as the people who aren't saved untouched/uncleansed by the living water of God (the ocean/God's word). Some beach sand is sun bleached from being exposed to the sun all day and some sand in the dunes are infested w/ briers that are sticky thorns that can be painful if you step on them. The sun-bleached sand and thorns is kind of like people being lost in the world because they have been exposed to so much sin that their lives have become corrupt-that is all they know because they live in it. I see the ocean as God’s living water/His holy word and those standing in the water have a personal relationship w/ Christ on some level some deeper than others. I see a painting of a beach and waves rolling into the beach leaving a little hint of foam on the wet sand and people standing side by side w/ their heads tilted downward- standing just shy of the foam not allowing the water’s edge touch them and facing them are people standing side by side in the water’s edge reaching out their arms so lovingly inviting them to join them on their journey with the Lord. In the sky Jesus’ face with tears rolling down and His arms outstretched. The ocean representing the many tears He has cried for us in joy and sorrow, but a place of healing and renewed life. Like the bible, don’t we go to God’s word to drown our sorrows and bring joy to our hearts? It’s our road map to life. God’s beauty lives in His creation.

I think most of all of us at one time or another been on the beach and played tag w/ the tides & waves of the ocean. Sometimes we want the water to rush over our feet and then other times we don't want to get our feet wet- not feeling like they have the time to say that prayer, read & memorize a scripture, or even tell God, "I Love You, just because." The more times a person gets their feet wet the stronger their desire becomes to go out a little deeper in the water and face some fears such as a jellyfish crossing your path(in spiritual terms trusting God even deeper to allow yourself to be vulnerable and humble/be a risk taker when it comes to winning a soul for eternity). Think about depths of the ocean and the sand that rests at the bottom of the sea floor. Think about how saturated that sand is w/ water. It was sand once, but no longer sand probably more like mud, and Who is the Potter and who is the clay? He is the Potter and we are the clay. The deeper you go into the ocean the sand conforms to a different state it becomes softer and more mold able, just as we are molded and shaped into God’s perfect masterpiece. Our hearts become softer and as we go deeper in our relationship with Him.
Lets go deeper….
Take a hand full of sand and then take a hand full of mud in the other hand with your hands closed turn them over and open them. The sand falls from your hand faster quickly separating where as the mud falls more slowly and for the most part stays together felling in clumps. So for the most part the mud still was united in pieces, but the sand scattered like the sand pile in your hand never existed. The sand that was made from the mud that came from the depths of the ocean sticks together, but the dry sand that has never touched water completely falls apart. So the point is the deeper we are in our walk with the Lord the less likely we are to fall from Him, but the farther away from Him we are more likely we are to fall. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy living in His water, but it’s worth every step you take. We have to have the living water of God it is the foundation of faith. The further in you go into the ocean (God’s word) the deeper you go- the efforts you put forward digging deeper into the truth of His word. There are some areas of the ocean that depth is so deep they have yet been determined. God’s word is endless, you can never cease going deeper with God. The scripture has so much to be told and one verse can hold many answers. You may come to tread in waters that seem stagnant to you and you feel you can’t go any deeper, but you can. Sometimes you can get stuck in a rut doing things the same everyday. So then you need to stop and possibly take a new direction in your walk with the Lord. It could be simply as changing up your prayer times or devotionals. When you find yourself stuck in the mud and you can’t see the fruit producing in your life ask God to redirect you. As silly as it may sound we need to stop and just allow God to speak to us. We need to take the time to hear His voice. It’s amazing how much we hear once we stop and listen. Now God allow me to take this small grain of sand and use it for Your glory. I want to walk more closer to You Lord, help us all to stop walking of the surface of Your love and go deeper with You. :)

Christ called us to be fishers of men. * Matthew 4:19- 19And He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.

2 Corinthians 12:10

I didn't have time to post the scripture so here it is now:

Psalm 29:3
3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.
Psalm 33:6-11
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.

7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars [a] ;
he puts the deep into storehouses.

8 Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the people of the world revere him.

9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.

10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations
Psalm 42:7-8
7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
Psalm 104:25
25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.

Psalm 107:23
23 Others went out on the sea in ships;
they were merchants on the mighty waters.
(Why this verse because it reminds me of those that
have done more than get their feet wet in faith. they ventured out
farther taking risks to win souls. It says "merchants on the mighty waters"- when we are living selflessly and walking in truth and faith we are living richly for His glory. Merchants of the world can be confident and prideful, and merchants of the Word of God are humble, loving souls. I love what God is showing me thru the scripture!)

Proverbs 8:29-31
29 when he gave the sea its boundary
so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.

30 Then I was the craftsman at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,

31 rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.

Isaiah 40:29-31
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.

30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;

31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Habakkuk 2:14
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD,
as the waters cover the sea.

John 4:10
10Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

Romans 8:39
39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Revelation 22:17
17The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.

Lord,
So many times we ask You to meet our own needs. I trust in
You and You never fail to do so. I want to make my number one
need to be fulfilling Your need to be glorified by filling Your desire for my life. Unleash our passions for You, Lord so Your will can be made perfect for Your glory! You hold my heart always. All for Your Glory! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen. Loving You~Leigh

when I first saw this thread I thought it was about the Point of Grace song.... Love of Christ

Here are the lyrics for it...

Love of Christ - Point of Grace
(Ephesians 3:14-21)

Performed by Point of Grace
Written by Lowell Alexander, Gayla Borders, Jeff Borders

Chorus
How long (how long)
How wide (how wide)
Is the love of Christ
How deep (how deep)
How high (how high)
Is the love of Christ

It would take ten thousand lifetimes
To comprehend, a love with no beginning
A love that knows no end

Chorus

More than any heart could measure or ever hold
His love could fill the oceans
'Til they overflowed

Chorus

Higher than the mountains
Deeper than the ocean
Farther than the reach of the sky
Wider than the heavens
Longer than forever
Greater is the love of Christ

Chorus

Here is the link to listen to it also....

God continues to go deeper and show me more….
Wednesday night at church talked about Luke 17:32-“Remember Lot’s wife!”
Lot’s wife was told to move forward and not look back, but she did just that. She looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. The point was to never turn back to your old life after you have been given a new life. Why would you want something that is now dead to you? Leave the sin in the past and move forward to the promises that God has for each of us.
Never go back to where God has brought you out from.

Again take another look at the ocean’s floor in different parts of the ocean depending on location the foundation of the ocean floor can be well compacted. Once sand now sediment or mud once you scoop up a hand full. If you break it away from the foundation and go to the surface of the ocean with it most likely it will all be completely gone from your hand by the time you make it up. So by breaking away from the foundation the sand lost its foundation and formation, just as we break away from the foundation of God our foundation weakens. It begins to crumb, fall apart and dissipates just as the sand did. Why does the sand come out of your hand on the way up to the ocean’s surface? The sand is no longer a part of the foundation. As it moves upward away from the ocean’s floor/foundation the pressure of the water breaks it apart. Just like going back where we came before we had a relationship with Christ. The pressures of the world around us can easily break our spirits if we aren’t walking closely with God.
