Yikes ladies...not a pretty topic...but I have a terrible bladder infection and no means to go to the DR. for at least a week. Any advice on how to flush one out?

Drink TONS of cranberry juice, Cara. It will help, if not take it away.

Definitely the cranberry juice! I have to drink it everyday because I'm very prone to getting them them from my disability.

Bladder infections are a pain! Since I heard about the cranberry juice, I've had them start, began drinking the juice right away and headed off the infection. I'm praying for you Cara. I know they are uncomfortable. (((HUGS)))
P.S. I got lost on the way back to the hotel. LOL. It took me an hour to get back there and it was supposed to take only 11 minutes. Of course, there was some road construction going on. But I went in circles and every which way for quite awhile.

and if you like it you can drink cranapple juice...adds to the acidity of the body's ph levels and helps to prevent em....but if you have had it for a while i suggest going to the dr and asking about a prophalactic antibiotic...there are a few out there....one used commonly is macrobid or nitrofurantion....i'm a liscensed nurse so i've seen alot of cases...also if you can get some phenzopyrine...it helps with the pain and should be over the counter...i think its in the medicine azo...

I've been mixing my cranberry juice with Canada Dry Ginger Ale over ice for about 20 years...waaaay better than just plain! Canada Dry started making it in two liter bottles back in the 90's but I haven't seen it for a while. I'll be praying for ya!

Thanks tryed the AZO (keep it on hand) and it didnt help...this seems to be a bad one so I got some cystex (Sodium Salicylate) for pai and (methenamie) to control the infection plus some cranberry juice and supplements.... I am miserable and certain I will have to make a trip to the DR. but have no Health insurance right now and can't afford to go till Thursday.....so... I might call and see if they will call me in in something without seeing me...but not likely.
thanks ladies...grateful for your prayers.

Yikes... I sure hope you are feeling better. How have you been... did you get in to see the DR. yet?? Praying for you.
Lol... Are boys allowed in here?
Anyway, it is very common for women to get Urinary Tract Infection this is because of the shorter urethra. Nursing education includes wiping front to back and proper hygiene measures. E. Coli, the bacteria that causes UTI may get into the urethra if cleaning is done wrongly.
hehehe... Just want to share what I learned at school.
